Children grow so quickly, it seems you blink and you miss a few months! So with this being a milestone year with the family’s eldest child starting secondary school. They wanted to record their story with a Godalming family photography shoot. So they could look back on this stage and enjoy the memories for years to come.
The family chose late summer for their family photography shoot. This was perfect as they were tanned, rested, relaxed and up for enjoying some fun family time! For example, the children really enjoyed showing me their favourite places around the garden. In addition some of the things they loved doing including a few of their favourite hobbies. Of course this makes the shoot all the more fun! Their daughter put on her ballet outfit. She was an absolute natural, I was very impressed.
Kind thoughts
After the session, at the viewing, the family carefully chose several portraits from the photoshoot. These were put in frames around their home which we were all excited to see. I had a lovely review from the family after they were delivered. They sid they thought they were ‘amazing’ which I am thrilled about!

Godalming Family Photography Shoot // Nicola Light Photography
I loved meeting Bridget and family for their professional Croydon family photographer session which took me slightly further afield than usual to Coombe Wood near Croydon, South London. It was lovely to visit somewhere new, which was so beautiful and perfect for family photography! The family love to walk there so it made for an ideal location for their Croydon family photography shoot especially as the girls were familiar with the garden so could show me where to go! As you can see we had great fun enjoying the summer weather (yes the sun was shinning!) and lots of time to play.
Bridget said after her viewing session, “Thank you for the files…we have really enjoyed looking at the photos again, they are amazing! Thank you again for doing such a fab job. It was so important to me to have lovely pictures of the family before they all grow too big!”

Can you hear the giggles from the children in this fun photography session? This really is what it’s all about, fun, laughter and plenty of running about! I believe that children need to be outdoors having the freedom to allow their personalities to shine through. I want to record the love and connections between you and your family. For example this might be a little whispered secret or riding on Daddy’s shoulders. Perhaps a cuddle with Mummy, playing with your favourite toys or much loved book. These all fit together and help me capture your style, your personalities and your family story.
I loved meeting this gorgeous Guildford based family for their photography shoot a few weeks ago, it really was so lovely to spend time with them. We took a walk around the gardens letting the children lead us. It’s always better to let them be in charge!

Are you looking for a family photographer Surrey? I hope this example of a recent photoshoot might help you decide if I am the right photographer for you.
It was great to revisit one of my favourite venues a few weeks ago to capture this gorgeous family from Clandon in Surrey. I really enjoyed helping Natasha prepare for the photoshoot. We did a FaceTime call to look at clothing options. This enabled her to feel ready and relaxed as the day approached. During the family photoshoot we had plenty of time to enjoy capturing them as a family, and it was such a treat to have their Grandpa along to share in the fun. I love have multi generations on a photo shoot. I have such sweet precious pictures of my parents with my children. We have the pictures up around the house and often take comfort from them when they are so far away.

Oh my goodness what a cutie this little girl is! I adored meeting her and her parents for their Surrey family photography session at one of my favourite venues. She was wearing her Christening dress which her parents wanted to capture to help them remember the special day a few weeks before. The dress was stunning and she really did look at cute as a button! I can remember seeing my children in their christening dress. I think I probably cried! Our family dress is very delicate as it’s been passed through about 5 generations and many many babies have worn it! It is safely stored away now for the next generation which probably won’t be for another 15 years or so!
As you can see this little girl had a wonderful sense of fun and such a sweet nature which made the session very easy as we walked around the gardens, even allowing them to have a clothes change towards the end! It’s clear to see the close bond between them and I am delighted with the final portraits.

I was so pleased to hear from James and Debbie. They wanted to book a maternity photography session in Guildford with me in early August. They chose Newlands Corner just outside Guildford. It is a special place that they enjoy taking their much loved dogs for weekend walkies! With such magnificent views we were spoilt for choice for backdrops for the maternity photography session. The dogs clearly enjoyed the fresh air! The lovely couple wanted to capture this special time as they eagerly await the arrival of their precious baby. I am thrilled to say they are booked in for their newborn pictures so watch this space for an update soon!

Next Steps
I take maternity photography sessions when you reach about 35 weeks. You’ve got an impressive bump and still feel reasonably comfortable. We don’t have to move about too much on the sessions, it’s up to you really. These guys were great walkers and fit! But we can have lots of rests too!

It was great to catch up with these siblings from Guildford in Surrey for their second teenage portrait photographer session with me. It’s so lovely to see so many returning families. It’s great to build a relationship with the family and be part of documenting their journey to adulthood. I always enjoy the variety of people I photograph from bumps, to babies. Then through to toddlers, young children, teens and adult professionals. It’s fun to mix it up! In a typical week I am photographing all of these different groups!

It was such a pleasure to be chosen as the Ewhurst photographer for this happy couple from Surrey. Chris and Peter had recently got married at the beautiful church in Ewhurst, and they asked me to take a few pictures to remember their happy union as they didn’t have an official photographer on the big day itself! Of course I said yes as it was a real treat to hear their story and spend time with them recording the celebration of marriage. We took some pictures both outside and inside the church then a few at home which rather handily is right next door! I really enjoyed myself and do hope they keep in touch.
