The voucher includes unlimited pre-shoot telephone preparation consultations, a preparation guide, the session time, editing and viewing of approximately 50 images. The session fee also includes my gift of a mounted 8″ x 6″ fine art print with your first order. At the viewing session I can guide you through selecting beautiful bespoke frames and canvases which range from £125 to about £500 depending on size. Digital files start from £350 for 10. Picture boxes, portrait books and mini albums can also be purchased.
My photography sessions take place throughout Surrey, Berkshire, Sussex and South London, including towns like Woking, Dorking, Godalming, Horsham, Reigate, Farnham, Leatherhead, Haslemere, Ascot, Epsom, Clapham, Battersea and Wimbledon.

2017 Family and headshot photography session highlights
So it seems I have still not found the magical solution to stopping time, even after trying a wide array of wands on a brilliant day out at Harry Potter World earlier this month! So for the time being, we shall all have to be content enjoying every day we do have with our family and friends even if they whizz by so quickly!
The reason I take so many photos of my children (several thousand each year!) is that I like to record the moments I might forget in years to come. It’s the little details that I love, sometimes overlooked. But in years to come will bring me such happiness when they remind me what they were like at that stage of their lives. I love looking at a portrait that brings back not only a visual reference to that moment but brings back the sound of the laughter, the warmth of the sunshine or the smell of the flowers. I certainly felt that when I looked through all the headshot and family photography sessions I had in 2017. They all brought back such happy memories of the fun we had during these family photoshoots. That’s the important word, ‘fun’! That really is the essence of my photography sessions. We are having fun, it shines through the pictures, brings out your true personalities, whilst you are having a great time! I am so pleased when people feedback that they didn’t realise it was going to be so much fun! That’s my aim, for your children to enjoy what they like doing best. If they are happy, you are happy and we can relax and enjoy ourselves!
Thank you so much for your support in 2017, it really has meant so much to me! It was an amazing year and I feel very honoured to have captured such special moments for so many lovely families. I have lots of exciting plans for 2018, and look forward to sharing these with you soon!

I really enjoyed being the family photographer for this lovely family from Croydon in Surrey. We had such a fun time messing about in the garden, climbing trees and having running races! This family photography session really sums up the essence of a professional family shoot. There’s plenty of fun and games, giggles and cuddles and most importantly being directed by the children. Letting them tell us what they wanted to do! The family are a great example of following the advice of my
what to wear guide! Their colours coordinated so well and really toned in with the autumnal colours.
We had a great time at the viewing sessions. I always like to present a selection of ideas to help the family start to consider how best to display their favourite portraits. You can see some of these ideas below.

Family Photographer Shere Surrey
I really adore these two girlies and their Mummy too! It was so exciting to be asked to photograph my dear friend Amice and her gorgeous girls. I last photographed them three years ago. We did the family photography shoot in their garden in Shere Surrey. This was a perfect idea, so personal and familiar to the girls. They loved showing me all their favourite places to play. In addition the autumn colours provided us with the perfect backdrop. We couldn’t help but have a great time!
You may notice that the girls changed clothe. Which is an option for any family photography shoot. It has the advantage of giving you a new look. Which it certainly did when I persuaded the girls to get into the flowerbed amongst the red branches! I knew the colours would work well, the red looks so striking.
Amice was thrilled with her family portraits and I can’t wait to deliver her frames, all in time for Christmas!

Wow! I am so excited to have just handed over this stunning portrait photography album to a very happy client! I just love designing portrait albums. This particular album features about 40 pictures from a Surrey family photography shoot I did in September. It’s fun getting creative with the design of these books. Sometimes I display several pictures on one page together, on others I might do a picture flowing right across a double page. It all comes together to create a very special portrait book that will be admired for many years to come.

I was so looking forward to being the Godalming family photographer. This was for one of my favourite families this month at some local gardens. As you can see the session certainly lived up to expectations! This was the Godalming family’s sixth photography session with me. Which includes the last in a set of three documenting the twin boys journey. Going from babies at 6 months to toddlers at 2!
We have now become firm friends so it certainly doesn’t feel like work when we meet up! In fact they rather compound my favourite (Confucius) saying. “Choose a job you love and you will never have to work another day”. The children were amazing on the photoshoot. So much fun and playful. It was great to have Granny along too as the extra pair of hands is always appreciated!
I recently had a lovely review on google from the family. “Nicola is amazing. I would throughly recommend using her. We’ve now used her six times (between 2013 and 2017). For family photos as we love her work so much. She is friendly, professional and most importantly an excellent photographer, who knows just how to bring the best out of small children. Our three children are all under five years old, and even if the day has been cold and the children not interested in posing, somehow she magically ‘catches’ little moments that have produced stunning work. What a joy it was to be the baby photographer for dear little Sophie and parents from Godalming in Surrey. You may recognise her parents from their Surrey
maternity session last month at Newlands Corner. I was so excited to hear of Sophie’s safe arrival into the world. It was such a treat to go and photograph her at home at just 2 weeks old.
She really was so tiny and perfect in every way. It was clear to see that Mum and Dad were already besotted. They could hardly take their eyes of their beautiful daughter for the whole of the baby photographer session. So it was easy to capture the love that filled the room. It’s such a treat being a baby photographer. It’s particularly special when I’ve met the parents before at their maternity photoshoot so we get to know each other. We can enjoy chatting about the upcoming events! They are all doing so well and I am very much looking forward to their next session with me in the Spring. When Sophie may well be crawling!
The family said after “Absolutely thrilled with the stunning photos from our bump and newborn shoots. Nicola is extremely friendly and welcoming, and captured magical images from both posed and more informal moments in our time together. Children grow so quickly, it seems you blink and you miss a few months! So with this being a milestone year with the family’s eldest child starting secondary school. They wanted to record their story with a Godalming family photography shoot. So they could look back on this stage and enjoy the memories for years to come.
The family chose late summer for their family photography shoot. This was perfect as they were tanned, rested, relaxed and up for enjoying some fun family time! For example, the children really enjoyed showing me their favourite places around the garden. In addition some of the things they loved doing including a few of their favourite hobbies. Of course this makes the shoot all the more fun! Their daughter put on her ballet outfit. She was an absolute natural, I was very impressed.
Kind thoughts
After the session, at the viewing, the family carefully chose several portraits from the photoshoot. These were put in frames around their home which we were all excited to see. I had a lovely review from the family after they were delivered. They sid they thought they were ‘amazing’ which I am thrilled about!

Godalming Family Photography Shoot // Nicola Light Photography
I loved meeting Bridget and family for their professional Croydon family photographer session which took me slightly further afield than usual to Coombe Wood near Croydon, South London. It was lovely to visit somewhere new, which was so beautiful and perfect for family photography! The family love to walk there so it made for an ideal location for their Croydon family photography shoot especially as the girls were familiar with the garden so could show me where to go! As you can see we had great fun enjoying the summer weather (yes the sun was shinning!) and lots of time to play.
Bridget said after her viewing session, “Thank you for the files…we have really enjoyed looking at the photos again, they are amazing! Thank you again for doing such a fab job. It was so important to me to have lovely pictures of the family before they all grow too big!”
