It was so fun being the Woking Family photographer for this lovely family from Surrey. We did the photo shoot in the garden so it was very relaxing for everyone. They enjoyed showing me their favourite trees to climb and secret passages! When choosing a location you may wish to consider a few things. Firstly maybe shoot at home if you have a nice garden with shade? Otherwise secondly, perhaps there is somewhere you like walking or visiting as a family? Have a chat with your children, if you are old enough, about where they like to go. There are so many child friendly places in Surrey. Make a day of it with a picnic after. Children love an ice cream after too! Mind you, so do I! A raspberry ripple or mint choice chip gets my vote!

Well my job as photographer for this gorgeous family from Guildford in Surrey, was very easy! The family are very close, and it was clear to see the loving relationship between the parents and children. They have a great sense of fun which I think shines through in their pictures. Their energy seemed endless, with running races, gymnastics, rolling down the hill and even at the playground towards the end for a bit of climbing and den building! All in all a perfect morning!
I hear they slept well that night…. 😉

What a lovely photography shoot I had with this gorgeous family from Guildford in Surrey. Their son was so cute and smiley, my job was easy! The portraits speak for themselves – you can tell the family have a great sense of fun and we literally laughed our way through 90 minutes!
The session was bought as a Christmas voucher by Laurence’s parents, so it was extra special. I am photographing Laurence’s brother and family in a couple of months so it’ll be a treat to capture the whole family!
I had a lovely email from the family after their viewing session.

Well what a treat I had this week with Lydia Jane Styling! I had always wanted to have a make up lesson as quite frankly my make up collection is embarrassingly small and my knowledge of application smaller! At best I grab a few minutes in the morning to apply some mascara and blusher between getting the children to school and starting work. On a Saturday night I might go ‘crazy’ and apply some gloss, bronzer and shadow! But as I turned 40 last year (eek did I say that out loud?!) I thought it was about time to grow up, understand a bit more about my skincare routine and learn a thing or two about much needed make up application to enhance my natural features 😉 or more realistically hide the wrinkles and dark bags!
So I headed over to Lydia’s on Wednesday morning with a certain amount of apprehension and excitement! I first met Lydia as a Client; I photographed her gorgeous family in 2013. Now, 2 years on, she’s a lovely friend and someone I enjoy spending time with. Six months ago she launched her own business as a personal stylist and make-up artist, offering a high quality and professional service advising both men and women on what to wear and how to develop their own unique style to enhance their individuality and appearance. She has done an amazing job with her website, building her client base and already winning awards!
Lydia wanted some help with tips on photographing her Clients on shopping consultation and before/after make up lessons so I helped with this aspect and in return she helped me with some much needed make up tips!
I couldn’t have been happier with the results. Firstly Lydia put me at ease straight away, I felt relaxed and excited to have the chance to focus on me for two hours – I am sure all busy Mums can relate to this! We talked about what my routine was currently, and the products I was using (we both were in fits of giggles as I admitted my lipstick was bought for my wedding day….ummm 7 years ago!), then we took the lesson stage by stage, in an easy to understand, fun and enjoyable way. Lydia really listened to my needs right from the start. She understood that as a busy Mum I didn’t have an hour in the morning to apply my make up, so we had a couple of options for a 10 minute everyday look and a longer evening look. Lydia was so encouraging and patient I felt like I could ask questions to make sure that I understood and that when I was home I could replicate what she taught me! I had a go at every stage so it was very hands on, which was perfect for reinforcing the different techniques. I was so pleased with what I learnt and the end result. I didn’t want to look too ‘made up’ but make the most of what mother nature gave me! So thanks Lydia I had a terrific time, you are very talented and I would recommend you to anyone for a 1-2-1 make up lesson or getting a few girlfriends together for a fun make up lesson!

Family Photography
I had a feeling I was going to have a lot of fun on the family photography shoot for Kiki and family. As you can see I was not disappointed! They asked me as a Family Photographer Farnham to capture their family at home. Kiki’s daughters had bought the voucher for her and husband Franco to celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary! What an amazing milestone. They’ve obviously had many happy years together and their two beautiful daughters. Which are a testament to their loving family unit. I spent a couple of hours with the family in their garden, having fun and meeting their very sweet cat!
At the viewing session Kiki said that she was a bit anxious before the session as she’d never done anything like this before. But I was thrilled that she said I made it ‘delightful’ and a ‘very enjoyable relaxed experience’!
My pleasure, I am glad you liked it and I can’t wait to hand over your canvases! I am sure you will enjoy your portraits for years to come. Congratulations on your very special wedding anniversary!

If you’re a regular reader of my family photography blog you might notice that so many of my recent shoots have been returning Clients which is so lovely as I become really attached to my families and I love catching up with them and seeing the children grow! I last photographed this gorgeous pair of twins from Clapham, South London, last October in their 3 month photography shoot, so now at 9 months it’s lovely to see their individual personalities coming through. One of the best bits of being a children’s portrait photographer is observing and documenting a family growing together. It’s been a privilege to watch little Jamie grow since his baby session to his 9 month session to now at 18 months! He is very happy and playful so we really enjoyed our walk around the gardens. I loved catching up with baby Edward and family for our portrait photography session in Surrey last month! It had been 9 months since his Surrey newborn baby shoot and wow how he has grown! He was so cute and smiley even though it was a bit chilly that morning! It was great to catch up, and capture Edward as an (almost!) toddler. His personality really shines though and we had so much fun. It was lovely to see teddy again too – you may remember him from his newborn shoot!

Looking for a Maternity Photographer Guildford Surrey?
I love being a maternity photographer Guildford Surrey. It’s always exciting meeting a new family ready for their maternity, baby or family photography shoot! I have Clients all over Surrey and the surrounding counties, with children of all ages. Some Clients like to book individual sessions, and some book onto my year long baby photography package. On this photography journey I record their experience through an important stage of their lives! As you can see, this is a very exciting time for Mum Liezel and family! This is the first of three shoots they will have over the next twelve to eighteen months. It was great fun getting to know the family and hearing about their plans for the arrival of their second child!
