Family Photographer Haslemere
I loved all aspect of this photography session with Kate and family from Liphook near Haslemere in Surrey. It was such fun planning their day (a special treat for her 40th birthday!). Kate was looking for a family photographer Haslemere to capture her family, including her parents in their garden, relaxing and enjoying family time with each other and various pets! The family photography session was such fun, it was immediately clear to see the family had a very close bond. I particularly enjoyed watching the children being with their doting grandparents.
We spent such an enjoyable afternoon together getting the most from their beautiful garden, with the roses in full bloom! I also loved meeting the tortoise, dog, cat and horses! To round off the session we went into the woods and climbed up the treehouse!

I love it when the slide show makes parents cry (in a good way!) as it shows me I’ve captured their children just as they see them. I always have tissues to hand!!

Family Photographer in Godalming
I am so pleased that these lovely parents chose me as their family photographer in Godalming, Surrey. They first approached me last summer enquiring about my baby photography package which includes 3 shoots over the first 12-18 months of a baby’s life. Having chatted through what timings would work best for them, we started off with their maternity shoot. This was at Newlands Corner last August, swiftly followed in September with they ‘at home’ newborn shoot. Both of which were such a wonderful reminder of their special time anticipating the arrival of their baby. Then the happy days following Sophie’s safe arrival when they were just starting to get to know their beautiful newborn baby!
Next Stage
Now six months on and it was time to catch up again to see how much Sophie had grown. In addition what had been happening during those busy first 6 months! As you can see Sophie’s parents are understandable besotted with her. She really is such a cutie! She smiled from start to finish and so did her parents so it was clear to see their bond is very strong. We had so much fun playing and exploring the gardens. It was delightful to have along both sets of doting grandparents too. Sophie was certainly the centre of attention and loving every minute of it!
It’s so special to record children with grandparents, it’s such an important part of documenting history. I know I look back fondly on photographs of my children with my Mum and Dad.
Sophie’s Mum said after their viewing. “Stunning photos yet again, and so many special moments captured to look back on for a long time. Can’t wait to get them on the wall!” My pleasure, I am so glad you love them, I will delivering them shortly, can’t wait!

This Surrey family photography session is a great example of what a family photo shoot with me is all about. Basically, lots of laughter and natural outdoor fun! The shoot took place last week in one of the family’s favourite local gardens. I am extremely fond of this family, who I have had the pleasure to photograph before. Their daughter is so sweet natured and extremely pretty (just like her Mummy!) So really the photoshoot was very easy! This was their third session with me in my baby package. Which consists of three sessions over about 12-18 months.

I am always amazed to see how much children grow in the first two years, there really is no other time like it. Blink and you miss it! So it’s a really precious time to record not only for the child and parents but for generations to come.

2017 Family and headshot photography session highlights
So it seems I have still not found the magical solution to stopping time, even after trying a wide array of wands on a brilliant day out at Harry Potter World earlier this month! So for the time being, we shall all have to be content enjoying every day we do have with our family and friends even if they whizz by so quickly!
The reason I take so many photos of my children (several thousand each year!) is that I like to record the moments I might forget in years to come. It’s the little details that I love, sometimes overlooked. But in years to come will bring me such happiness when they remind me what they were like at that stage of their lives. I love looking at a portrait that brings back not only a visual reference to that moment but brings back the sound of the laughter, the warmth of the sunshine or the smell of the flowers. I certainly felt that when I looked through all the headshot and family photography sessions I had in 2017. They all brought back such happy memories of the fun we had during these family photoshoots. That’s the important word, ‘fun’! That really is the essence of my photography sessions. We are having fun, it shines through the pictures, brings out your true personalities, whilst you are having a great time! I am so pleased when people feedback that they didn’t realise it was going to be so much fun! That’s my aim, for your children to enjoy what they like doing best. If they are happy, you are happy and we can relax and enjoy ourselves!
Thank you so much for your support in 2017, it really has meant so much to me! It was an amazing year and I feel very honoured to have captured such special moments for so many lovely families. I have lots of exciting plans for 2018, and look forward to sharing these with you soon!

I really enjoyed being the family photographer for this lovely family from Croydon in Surrey. We had such a fun time messing about in the garden, climbing trees and having running races! This family photography session really sums up the essence of a professional family shoot. There’s plenty of fun and games, giggles and cuddles and most importantly being directed by the children. Letting them tell us what they wanted to do! The family are a great example of following the advice of my
what to wear guide! Their colours coordinated so well and really toned in with the autumnal colours.
We had a great time at the viewing sessions. I always like to present a selection of ideas to help the family start to consider how best to display their favourite portraits. You can see some of these ideas below.

Family Photographer Shere Surrey
I really adore these two girlies and their Mummy too! It was so exciting to be asked to photograph my dear friend Amice and her gorgeous girls. I last photographed them three years ago. We did the family photography shoot in their garden in Shere Surrey. This was a perfect idea, so personal and familiar to the girls. They loved showing me all their favourite places to play. In addition the autumn colours provided us with the perfect backdrop. We couldn’t help but have a great time!
You may notice that the girls changed clothe. Which is an option for any family photography shoot. It has the advantage of giving you a new look. Which it certainly did when I persuaded the girls to get into the flowerbed amongst the red branches! I knew the colours would work well, the red looks so striking.
Amice was thrilled with her family portraits and I can’t wait to deliver her frames, all in time for Christmas!

I was so looking forward to being the Godalming family photographer. This was for one of my favourite families this month at some local gardens. As you can see the session certainly lived up to expectations! This was the Godalming family’s sixth photography session with me. Which includes the last in a set of three documenting the twin boys journey. Going from babies at 6 months to toddlers at 2!
We have now become firm friends so it certainly doesn’t feel like work when we meet up! In fact they rather compound my favourite (Confucius) saying. “Choose a job you love and you will never have to work another day”. The children were amazing on the photoshoot. So much fun and playful. It was great to have Granny along too as the extra pair of hands is always appreciated!
I recently had a lovely review on google from the family. “Nicola is amazing. I would throughly recommend using her. We’ve now used her six times (between 2013 and 2017). For family photos as we love her work so much. She is friendly, professional and most importantly an excellent photographer, who knows just how to bring the best out of small children. Our three children are all under five years old, and even if the day has been cold and the children not interested in posing, somehow she magically ‘catches’ little moments that have produced stunning work. Given the number of times we’ve used her, she feels like a friend. My oldest child talks with excitement about Nicola when ever she talks about the photos on our walls.”

I loved meeting Bridget and family for their professional Croydon family photographer session which took me slightly further afield than usual to Coombe Wood near Croydon, South London. It was lovely to visit somewhere new, which was so beautiful and perfect for family photography! The family love to walk there so it made for an ideal location for their Croydon family photography shoot especially as the girls were familiar with the garden so could show me where to go! As you can see we had great fun enjoying the summer weather (yes the sun was shinning!) and lots of time to play.
Bridget said after her viewing session, “Thank you for the files…we have really enjoyed looking at the photos again, they are amazing! Thank you again for doing such a fab job. It was so important to me to have lovely pictures of the family before they all grow too big!”

Are you looking for a Children’s photographer in Surrey? I would be delighted to help….
Can you hear the giggles from the children in this fun photography session? This really is what it’s all about, fun, laughter and plenty of running about! I believe that children need to be outdoors having the freedom to allow their personalities to shine through. I want to record the love and connections between you and your family. For example this might be a little whispered secret or riding on Daddy’s shoulders. Perhaps a cuddle with Mummy, playing with your favourite toys or much loved book. These all fit together and help me capture your style, your personalities and your family story.
I loved meeting this gorgeous Guildford based family for their photography shoot a few weeks ago, it really was so lovely to spend time with them. We took a walk around the gardens letting the children lead us. It’s always better to let them be in charge!

Which is impressive considering we were trying to get two toddlers to co-operate! Furthermore at the viewing the presentation of the photos was very organised. Are you looking for a family photographer Surrey? I hope this example of a recent photoshoot might help you decide if I am the right photographer for you.
It was great to revisit one of my favourite venues a few weeks ago to capture this gorgeous family from Clandon in Surrey. I really enjoyed helping Natasha prepare for the photoshoot. We did a FaceTime call to look at clothing options. This enabled her to feel ready and relaxed as the day approached. During the family photoshoot we had plenty of time to enjoy capturing them as a family, and it was such a treat to have their Grandpa along to share in the fun. I love have multi generations on a photo shoot. I have such sweet precious pictures of my parents with my children. We have the pictures up around the house and often take comfort from them when they are so far away.
