Are you looking for a portrait photographer? I travel to all areas in Surrey like Guildford, Godalming, Woking and beyond. What a fantastic time I had with this gorgeous family for their third family shoot with me last summer.
The family choose to have their portraits taken in a beautiful local gardens. It was lovely that they included grandparents too. I love including all the different generations because it’ll be so special looking back at them in years to come.
I am certainly thinking a lot about my children’s grandparents at the moment. They are really missing seeing my children. We are having video calls which helps but there’s nothing like a proper cuddle and time together. I’m so glad we’ve got some lovely family pictures of them around the house. This helps my children feel closer to them by having a constant reminder around our home.
As with all my sessions, this family shoot was very relaxed walking around, taking time to enjoy each other’s company.
The kids are great fun so it was a very easy photo shoot. We had lots of jumping, running, and cuddling their favourite soft animals. It’s lovely to have cuddly animals or pets along as they are a much loved part of the family unit!
Now more than ever we are realising how important family time is and looking forward to celebrating a time in the future when we are back together again. If you’d like to book a family session for later in the year I will be booking in multigenerational sessions from late summer onwards. Hopefully by then we will be reunited with our grandparents and can enjoy family time together (guidelines permitting).

Bramley family photographer
This lovely family were looking for a Bramley family photographer to capture their children for their annual Christmas card. This was an extra special treat for me because I had captured them a year before for their Christmas card. It’s always lovely to go back to families, to catch up and see how much they have grown. For this family session, we had the added fun of a new pet to include! You can see how well the dog has settled in and is already much loved! All the children wanted a picture with him! I always enjoy including pets to a family photo shoot. I’ve had so many different animals including cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, tortoises, pigs, horses and chickens! I might have to drawn the line at a snake as I am not a fan I’m afraid!

Family photography Farnham
This lovely extended family from Farnham really enjoyed their family photography shoot in the autumn colours. We met at Winkworth Arboretum at the end of October. This was a very special gathering to celebrate a milestone birthday. It was very special to have lots of family members there. This included the Grandmother’s much adored the grandchildren.
Before the session we looked at what combinations where important to the family. This is particularly important for large family gatherings. I like to make sure I cover the key groups such as grandparents with grandchildren and other combinations. Sometimes the combinations can be quite extensive but that’s absolutely fine. This is your chance to capture the groups that are important to you.

When this gorgeous extended family were looking for a Cobham portrait photographer I was so flattered that they considered me for the job. I hadn’t met them before but within minutes we felt like we were old friends. I literally laughed from start to finish with these ladies plus their man (!) It were hilarious. I didn’t want to leave them at the end of the session! We had so much fun.
During the morning we enjoyed exploring the gardens, the flowers were looking spectacular. I rather wish my own garden looked more like this! In another life I might have done a gardening course to learn more about taking care of plants. Maybe I will add it to my retirement ‘to do’ list!

Family Photography
This wonderful family with their gorgeous girls were looking for a Cobham family portrait photographer to capture them enjoying time together. It was such a pleasure to meet them on a warm summers day and enjoy the gardens at Wisley that were in full bloom.
As with most sessions, the direction of the shoot naturally unfolds as the session progresses. It’s easier not to have a fixed plan but rather let the family dictate their ideas and let the children have freedom to express themselves. At places like Wisley there are so many different corners to explore. The gardeners do such an amazing job keeping the garden looking fantastic all year round. There are lots of exciting new plans there underway. With the opening of the beautiful new entrance in 2019, and more areas being opened up in 2020 and 2021. It’s set to remain a firm favourite with families for years to come.

Cobham Family Portrait Photographer
Photoshoot Shamley Green Surrey
It was great to kick off the new year with my first family photoshoot for this lovely family from Shamley Green Surrey. We headed to some local woods with their cute dog, Paddy to capture the three children and their mum. Timing was critical as the two eldest children were heading back to university the following day following the Christmas break.
The family were such good fun, which I think shines through in their pictures. You’ll have to check out the last two pictures below which show a 10 years on shot we recreated! It was so funny getting them all into the right position. As you can see their youngest son has grown quite a bit and is now the tallest which added quite a challenge to getting the positioning just right!
I was very pleased to see some of the spring colours coming through, some lovely pinks, bright yellows and reds. I don’t think it’ll be long before the daffodils are flowering which always puts a smile on my face. I’m not the greatest fan of the winter. I don’t want to wish away the months, but I do look forward to longer days with a bit more warmth.

Photoshoot Shamley Green Surrey
What a gorgeous morning I had undertaking this Surrey family mini photoshoot last year. This beautiful young lady really shone out during her session. She was a delight to chat to and I’m sure she’s got a very bright future ahead of her.
As with most of my Surrey family mini photoshoots, we headed up to the local woods. For example in this case Winterfold Woods in the Surrey Hills. It’s beautiful there. We often visit as a family. There are some stunning colours and fantastic views.
We spent about 30 minutes shooting which included a variety of different poses and a clothes change. We wanted to show her personality. Hence we worked together to decide how to photograph her. I included her in the direction of the shoot and showed her the images on the back of the camera. This was to ensure that she was happy with the overall look. I really enjoyed playing around with the soft light on that morning. The sunshine looked fabulous coming through the trees. It looked rather magical.

Mini Family Photographer Surrey // Surrey family mini photoshoot

I thoroughly enjoyed capturing this family for a photoshoot just before Christmas when they were gathered from as far as New Zealand to enjoy a few days together celebrating a special wedding anniversary. We went up to Winterfold Woods in Surrey, where we had such a fun morning. The children were fantastic and there was much laughter as we explored the area.

Family Photographer Surrey // Surrey Photoshoot
Gosh the time seems to have flown by in the last six months of 2019. I’m rather behind on blogging some of your gorgeous sessions like this Godalming family photoshoot. I’ve got a long list of about 30 sessions that I need to do! I was so busy shooting and editing that I put the blogging on the back burner and it’s time to readdress that balance because I always enjoy showing off your gorgeous pictures!
The blogs are particularly important when people approach me to take pictures of their family. I always try to send a few examples of sessions where the children are of a similar age to the prospective clients. This gives them more of a feeling about what the style of their sessions could look like. Although each session is unique and very much led by your family, so no two sessions are the same!
I really enjoyed this Godalming family photoshoot at this extended family gathering last summer. It was a very fun relaxed session taken in the garden. It’s lovely to see the different generations coming together.

Family Photography Session in Surrey
If you are reading this, perhaps you are looking for a Guildford or Surrey family or baby photographer?
It was so much fun to be asked as the Guildford Surrey Family Photographer for Ingrid and family a few weeks ago. The family were delightful and clearly all get on very well, which is so lovely to see. We took time capturing the four generations in lots of combinations. Subsequently they can all enjoy the beautiful portraits for years to come. The star of the day was of course Ingrid’s granddaughter who was a family photographer’s dream to capture. She had a real sparkle in her eye and so sweet so she made my job very easy! She really loved throwing up the autumn leaves which were turning such stunning shades.
We enjoyed walking around the garden, exploring and climbing trees. Family photography sessions are always relaxed and fun. There is no formality. We enjoy letting the children lead the way and show us what they want to do! It’s fun to see where this takes us each of the sessions!
