Family Photoshoot
Are you looking to book an Epsom family photoshoot? I travel all over Surrey and beyond. The shoot can take place in your garden, or somewhere special you like to go as a family. If there is nowhere in particular I’m happy to make some suggestions.
This extended family group was such good fun. As usual with the larger groups, we took a variety of different combinations. Each session is bespoke, but popular combinations include everyone group shots, grandparents with grandchildren and smaller family unit combinations. Of course pets are very much welcome too!
Before each session you will receive a guide to preparing, so you all ready to go on the day!

Are you looking for a Rudgwick family photographer? (I do commercial photography and headshots too!)
I cover all of West Sussex, Surrey and surrounding counties. I have been capturing happy families for over 10 years now. I am very proud to love the job I do! I really enjoyed capturing this West Sussex family. The pictures were especially poignant because the family will be moving house over the summer. So it’ll be important for the boys to have captured these memories in their first childhood home.
The garden is lovely, with plenty of spring colour still. As you can see, the boys are very active. So it was important to capture what they love most about their home. So lots of jumping, running, swinging, trampolining, cricket and piggybacks. In addition playing with their excitable spaniel who was absolutely gorgeous! This was all interspersed with cuddles from their parents. The family are so lovely, I thoroughly enjoyed capturing them at home.
The location for your shoot is up to you. Perhaps you would like to have the photographs taken at home? Or maybe a favourite park or local gardens. It’s best to think of somewhere that is special to you. But don’t worry, if there is nowhere in particular, I can make some suggestions.
Before your session I will send you a guide to preparing for your session. This will also include the all important ‘what to wear‘ guide! I’ll also talk about what to bring with you and what to expect on the day. Of course we will run through how to choose your favourites for the viewing session too. I do lots of examples of frames, like the ones you can see below.

Are you looking for a photographer Surrey? I travel all over Surrey and surrounding counties. I specialise in families from pregnancy, to young children, teens, grandparents and everyone in between! I also do christenings, small weddings and parties of all ages!
I do headshots and also product photography in the studio and lifestyle. I also do personal branding sessions to tell the story behind your brand.
This session is a lovely example of a relaxed family session that focused on the sweet relationship between grandparent and granddaughter.
The family live in Shere, Surrey so they wanted the photography session to include some of their favourite places they enjoy going together. We started off in their garden. This is a very important place for the two of them. The little girl enjoys helping her Granny out when she is sowing and tending to her vegetable patch. We then took a loop around the village incorporating the places they love most. Of course we had to include a fabulous ice cream from Shere delights! She definitely deserved it! As did granny her coffee!

I was so pleased to be chosen as the family photographer Horsley for this delightful family that I have photographed twice now. The first session for them was in the Surrey Hills in the autumn. So five years later, it was fun to do a spring session for them in some local gardens.
It was so exciting to see how much the children had grown up. It’s always such a treat to be chosen to document your children’s lives. Of course the children didn’t remember me, but it was so lovely playing with them and getting to know them again. They are both very cheeky, in a good way!
As always we took time to take lots of different combinations of the family. I always take some whole family shots. Of course some single portraits of each of the children. Some of the children together which usually includes some fun running races and piggyback rides if they’re up for it!
These children brought some of their favourite toys with them so it was great photographing them with them. I couldn’t believe how quickly the little boy solved the Rubik’s cube. I think it would take me hours, and probably still wouldn’t solve it!
They also each brought a book with them. One of them was one of my children’s favourite. The dinosaur that pooped a planet! Do you know it? It’s hilarious!

I really loved being the Godalming family photographer for this fabulous family a couple of weeks ago.
I first met the family five years ago for a family shoot at Winkworth Arboretum. It’s always lovely to see people again. It’s amazing how quickly the children grow up. It’s a real honour to capture their journey through childhood. We got on really well for their first shoot so I was so excited to meet up with them again. This time they had the addition of their gorgeous dog Etti! She was very good fun, but not let off her lead because they were worried she may not return! Etti has her own page on Instagram, she is a much loved beagle!
As always we enjoyed a relaxed walk seeing where the mood took us. We took the pictures in one of my favourite (secret!) spots for bluebells. The carpet of bluebells was looking amazing. I always think they look so magical, as if fairies might appear at any moment!
The family wanted some really fun pictures so we did some action and quirky ones. I don’t think we stop laughing! I was so excited for them to come in and see their pictures too. I always love it when they see the big reveal of how their pictures turned out!

Godalming Surrey children’s photographer
Gorgeous little Ella kept us on our toes for a couple of hours during her photography shoot at home in Godalming in Surrey.
We had such fun exploring her garden, running, jumping, feeding the fish and giggling! Can you believe her Grandfather made the gorgeous willow fox on a course earlier this year! The garden looks spectacular. I particularly liked the rhododendrons. That pink colour is totally fantastic!
We have been working on our garden over the last few months. It’s looking so much better now that we have really thought about different heights in the garden and seasons.
I think if I hadn’t been a photographer I may well have been a gardener. I would love to do some courses like the ones they offer at Wisley Gardens. Which of course always look fantastic! We have planted up our vegetable patch now too. We are hoping for a bumper crop of beans and tomatoes. We are also trying out courgettes and cucumbers although one of them is looking rather tired already so I’m not that hopeful!

Welcome to my website, I am a family photographer Surbiton Surrey. But I cover all of Surrey and most of the surrounding counties too. I specialise in natural, fun, family photography sessions that capture your true personalities.
The process
From your initial enquiry I will talk you through exactly how a session runs. This usually takes about 1 1/2 – 2 hours to shoot. The time of year will depend on you. Maybe you like beautiful spring flowers, roses in the summer months or the dazzling array of autumn colours. The choice is yours. Once we’ve decided on the date, we can talk about location. This might be somewhere that is special to you for example your garden or where your family enjoy spending time. If there is nowhere in particular I’m happy to make suggestions.
Once we’ve sorted the date, time, and location, we can talk about what to wear. I have a great guide to help you decide what to wear. Some people also take up my offer of a video call prior to the session to go through your wardrobe ideas. You don’t need to go out and buy more clothes (although some people love the excuse!). But rather looking at your existing clothes and how they coordinate together.
As we do quite a bit of planning before the session (I send you a guide to preparing too) we’re all set to go for a relaxed time on the actual day.
After the session you choose a time that suits you to come and view the pictures on the big screen in the studio. I tend to offer these appointments weekday mornings or evenings. This takes a couple of hours to choose your favourites and decide how best to display your portraits. All the framing options are bespoke so you can choose something that’s perfect for your home, style and budget.
This is a lovely example of a family shoot that I took last autumn. The woods were a special place for the family. After the session I had a lovely email from them. “Thank you for the lovely photos.”

Relaxed Portrait Photography
I adored this portrait photography Guildford session last autumn. It was so delightful to see the family again. I have photographed them many times over the last few years capturing the children as they grow up. I love the autumn colours and those rich golden tones. On a sunny day it really does feel quite magical.
This shoot took place at Winkworth Arboretum near Guildford in Surrey. The arboretum is a favourite of mine especially in October and November. The Acer trees in particular are absolutely spectacular. The red glow can be seen from the top of the hill looking down into the valley.
The girls had a great time playing with the leaves and exploring the area. It’s a beautiful National Trust property that is cared for so well. If you’re not already a supporter, do consider charities such as these that rely on our membership.
I think this was my last session before we went into lockdown in November. I can’t wait to get back out there in April. It’ll have been five months without seeing families for sessions. It seems like such a long time and I’ve really missed it.
I’m so pleased there are lots of lovely family sessions going in my diary for spring and summer now. I can’t wait to get out and reconnect with families I’ve met before, and meet new ones. My sessions are filling up fast. This is especially the case for Saturdays. So don’t forget to give yourself plenty of time to book in.

Portrait Photography Guildford // Nicola Light Photography
This delightful family were looking for a Surrey teenage photographer to capture them together enjoying some family time. I met them at their house and then we took a walk in their local woods. This is where they enjoy spending their time, especially on dog walks of course! I enjoyed exploring in a new location and getting to know them better.
