What a wonderful time I had photographing this beautiful family from Guildford in Surrey. I had last seen them three years before when the twins were only one. So it was so exciting seeing them again at age 4! They were great fun and we got some beautiful portraits! Although when we met up at 9.30 the rain was torrential and we weren’t sure if we were going to get any pictures! But luckily we made a beeline for a nearby cafe. We warmed up and waited for the rain to stop, which thankfully it did after about 20 minutes, phew!
Then we really enjoyed exploring the gardens and playing some games. Of course we had to include some tree climbing and running! They are also still small enough to enjoy a ride on Daddy’s shoulders!

I really enjoyed spending time with Anna and her gorgeous young family on this lovely autumnal day. I was was so thrilled when a few months ago she chose me to be her Godalming family portrait photographer. We played all around the garden, taking family portraits as special moments arose.
I particularly enjoyed their suggestion to take some of their daughter inside on her much loved rocking horse! When I saw this one in my edits I really squealed! It is shots like this that make me love my job as a family portrait photographer even more! It’s great to work together to see how best to capture the children’s personalitities. The parents said after. “You did a great job and we’re so happy with the final outcome”. So that’s great to hear! My pleasure guys, thanks for choosing me. I cannot wait for you to see your frames. They are going to be so fabulous! It shouldn’t be too long now. I will call you when they are ready

Looking for a Guildford Photographer?
I loved being the Guildford photographer for this fun family from Surrey. I enjoy the variety of working across Surrey, South London, Berkshire and West Sussex. But the commute is easier when I am chosen as a Guildford photographer as that is where I am based! In fact I live in a village called Cranleigh just south of Guildford with my family and three cats.
We had a great time together exploring these Surrey gardens for our photography shoot. The gardens were looking magnificent in the August sunshine! I love combining nature into my photography. Especially I adore flowers. I love the seasons and seeing what will come up next. If I wasn’t a photographer, I think I would have trained as a garden designer maybe!
On my photography shoots, I always love making children laugh. It creates far more natural smiles than asking them to ‘say cheese’ (cringe!). Sometimes I ask the parents to help by standing behind me and making silly faces to get them to laugh. Otherwise I tell jokes, get out my puppets or make up stories about fairies or other magical creatures! I’ve just taken delivery of some new huge clown sunglasses and silly wigs. So I am looking forward to trying these out on my next family session on Saturday! I will let you know what the response is…….!

Well today I am back in the studio after a wonderful 3 week break. We’ve been away, enjoying some family time in Mauritius, mostly building sandcastles, snorkelling and drinking cocktails! We’ve come away with plenty of special memories to keep us going through the rest of the year, ready for a new adventure next summer!
With still 6 weeks of the summer holidays to go, yesterday we thought we would head out to play on the hay bales that have been freshly rolled and ready for us to bounce on! The field is opposite our house so we got very excited when we saw the baler a few nights ago. We take picture in the field every year so we’ve got such a wonderful record of them growing up there. We took these about 7pm so the light was beautiful as the sun was getting lower in the sky. The kids loved it, as you can see. There was plenty of jumping around and some very funny dancing to Taylor Swift! I was pleased the farmer didn’t turn up as he might have had something to say!
They are growing up so fast, I can see it everyday. I adore photographing them, it’s like bottling a moment and reliving it time and time again. My heart melts as I look at them…..now to decide which ones to frame! I think I might have to make myself a rum punch as I decide!!

Portrait Photographer Surrey
I loved being the Portrait Photographer Surrey for this family. We met early one dry morning to have a play and walk and admire the beautiful summer flowers. I think you might know that I love flowers very much! I always get excited when I see some colour appear in February and March, I do breath a sigh of relief! I enjoy the seasons, we are lucky to have so much variety and so many wonderful flowers. I do try my luck in our garden but with only moderate success! I am not sure I have the green fingers that my mother or grandmother had! Perhaps there is still time to learn….do post any tips you have!
Amazingly enough I haven’t rescheduled any of my June portrait sessions due to rain, which is a miracle considering the downpours! Let’s hope we get some more sunshine in July otherwise we’ll all be feeling rather cheated! I am not sure it’s been so much Pimms weather, rather hot chocolate weather!
The family were so lovely, and their son was delightful with plenty of energy to add a sense of fun to the shoot! They were so thrilled with their pictures and said I had done ‘an amazing job’. Thank you so much, my pleasure.
