I really enjoyed this autumn family photo shoot in Godalming, Surrey. We took the pictures at Winkworth Arboretum which looks spectacular in October and November. Each year the colours are a riot of reds, oranges and yellows and it’s no wonder it attracts visitors from far and wide to admire one of natures finest displays of autumnal colours.
The family are absolutely delightful, and we had such a lovely time from start to finish. The boys are so sweet and playful together which made the session very easy. We really enjoyed playing in the leaves, climbing trees and having some running races. All good family fun enjoying the outdoors with a welcoming helping of sunshine.
After the shoot the family kindly gave me a five star review. “Nicola captured so many amazing and very natural shots while on an enjoyable walk at Winkworth. She knew exactly the right locations to get fantastic family photos with an array of autumn colours. I particularly loved her bag of tricks to help the kids smile more naturally! Family Photographer Surrey // Family Photo shoot Godalming
It was so lovely getting to know this gorgeous family on the morning of their photography shoot. They were looking for a Leatherhead family photographer to capture them at home with their delightful children aged 15 and 13. The morning was very easy just enjoying time in their garden on a glorious warm and bright autumnal day.
We moved round the garden, taking in some of their favourite spots and making the most of the soft light.
It’s nice to use somewhere special to you – perhaps a park, play area, your garden or local woods. Or alternatively I am happy to suggest a suitable location depending on the time of year. Perhaps we can play around in the daffodils in March, walk amongst the bluebells in May, pick apples in August, kick up the autumn leaves and climb trees in October! I undertake family photography shoots all over Surrey, Berkshire and West Sussex. It’s all about capturing your family having fun and doing what you enjoy together as a family. As soon as we confirm your date and location, I will send you a comprehensive ‘Guide to preparing for your session’. This has plenty of tips like ‘What to wear for your family photography session’ to ensure you are ready on the day.
Framing Ideas
Before this family’s viewing session I took time to create some examples of what their portraits would look like in different single frames and multiframes. This really helps the family to consider how they can display their favourites in their home. Of course these ideas are just a starting point, but it’s a useful way of getting some inspiration.

Surrey Family Photo shoot
I enjoyed this Surrey family photo shoot I took over the summer in some beautiful local gardens. Their little boy was certainly the star of the day! I love scouting out gorgeous places to shoot. Sometimes a family chooses somewhere special to them. However if there’s isn’t anywhere in particular, I am happy to suggest options. For example I have checked out fabulous places for particular times of year as the countryside changes so much! You’ll often find me in bluebells woods in the spring, local gardens in the summer and arboretums in the autumn!
I’ve been flat out with sessions all over Surrey throughout the year. But I am finally catching up on some of the Surrey family photo shoot sessions. I didn’t have time to blog about at the time! It seems so long ago since our fabulous long hot summer. We almost took it for granted when there were so many warm sunny days, we were quite spoilt. It certainly made my life easy being an outdoor photographer. No worrying about the rain! The only problem was sometimes keeping cool! But I often met clients early in the morning so we could take the photos before the temperature rose too high. This was certainly the case for this family photo shoot.
The mother said afterwards. “We had a great time and were very appreciative of all your hard work. Not an easy task when it’s so hot!” My pleasure, I think we all did well keeping cool in the shadier parts of the garden! The family came in to see their pictures a few weeks after their photo shoot and chose a beautiful frame and some digital files that they loved!

Family Photographer Bramley
This gorgeous family were looking for a family photographer Bramley to capture them for their annual Christmas card. The family have recently relocated from America back to England so no doubt they will have lots of cards to write to help stay in touch with friends both sides of the Atlantic. The shoot was shorter than usual as they just wanted to focus on family portraits, sibling portraits, and individual portraits. Usually I would have added in other combinations such as each of the children with each parent, parents together, pets etc, however I’m happy to fit in with your brief as my sessions are totally bespoke and individual for each family’s needs. The main thing is that I get it right for you.

Hello!
Thanks for looking around. I offer professional family photography Guildford to families and small businesses. I have been working professional for the last seven years. Having studied digital photography at East Surrey College I went on to qualify with the Guild of Photographers in 2012.
It was such a treat being the Professional photographer for this gorgeous family from Guildford in Surrey.
It was their second shoot with me this year. A few months ago I captured their youngest daughter just a few weeks after being born. So it was lovely to catch up and be able to capture the whole family on this occasion! We had a lovely time, with plenty of laughter and running about, we all deserved a cup of tea at the end!
I love the little cyclamens that are popping up all over the place. Have you noticed any? They are such a pretty pink and white colour.

I had a fabulous time at some local gardens with this gorgeous family of four a couple of weeks ago. The children were so cute, playing about in and out of the beautiful gardens. I particularly like the running and twirling pictures, the light is magical! It was good to have a favourite bunny along too! It’ll be so special in years to come to remember how loved he was!

Baby photo shoot Surrey
These proud new parents were looking for a photographer for a baby photo shoot in their home in Godalming, Surrey. They wanted to capture their newborn baby boy in the early stages of his life. They wanted to remember just how tiny he was, all those little features, so perfectly formed. It always seems like such a miracle to create a perfect little human being in just nine months! This little chap was such an angel baby. I had to tell the parents that they were extremely lucky as they are not all like this! He was so dreamy, no trouble at all, not even a little cry. The parents are doing a very good job as the little boy was clearly very content. After the parent’s viewing, they said. “Thanks for today, the pictures are amazing and I can’t wait for our order to arrive.”

They also left me a google review. “We did a newborn photoshoot with our baby boy who was 12 days old. The shoot was so natural and relaxed. My baby sessions can take place in your home or in the studio. Whichever you find most comfortable for you. This is a great example of a home baby photo shoot. Being at home allows you to be relaxed, have everything you need close to hand. In years to come it will allow you to show your baby the pictures that feature a familiar setting. On this occasion it was nice catching some of the details. For example the announcement cards, teddies, and him sleeping in his moses basket and of course cuddling on the bed.

Are you looking for a family photography shoot Dorking?
This lovely family of four from Dorking were looking for a family photography shoot in the autumn colours. It’s such a gorgeous time of year, so a great choice for a family photography shoot. I love watching the leaves change colour. You wouldn’t believe there are so many different shades of yellow, orange, red and green. I am sure I am boring my children. I point out the glorious colours every single day on the school run! “Mummy you are always talking about leaves and colours and sunlight” my youngest pointed out to me last week! I think I do see more beauty in the world since being a professional photographer. I can’t help but view the world as if through a lens.
For this autumn session I met the family on an unusually warm October Saturday at Winkworth Arboretum. It looks glorious this time of year. There are so many fun places for children to play, run, jump, and have a leaf fight! It was fun to have along their two lovely dogs, who were very well behaved! I do love including family pets.
The parents were so pleased with the pictures at their viewing. We were all very excited to see their final frames. The parents commented. “How lovely and relaxing the photoshoot was and how delighted we are with our images and the wonderful frame”.
