Hello! I am a Weybridge family photographer. I cover all areas around Surrey and beyond. This is a great example of a Weybridge family photographer session. The family choose their garden for the pictures. I can understand why, as it was absolutely gorgeous.
The choice of location is yours. You may wish to consider your garden, or somewhere special that you like to go. This might be your favourite woods, local gardens or park. If there is nowhere in particular, I’m very happy to make some suggestions.
This family wanted to have a clothes changes. Having planned this in advance, the family changed to create a different dynamic for their portraits. Their choice of clothing looked great. The colours coordinated really well. Before your session I send you a guide to what to wear. I’m also happy to discuss it with you to make sure you are ready on the day.
We took lots of combinations as you will see. With the addition of a grandparent we enjoyed adding in combinations of all the three generations. As you will see we had to get their big dogs in too! I have to admit they were a bit scary though as they were huge! I’m more of a cat than a dog person to be honest. The family introduced me to the dogs slowly and carefully, so they knew I was a friend. Thankfully this went well as I didn’t fancy being on the wrong side of them!
Next Steps
If you would like to see more examples of family sessions please see my information page. Perhaps you’d like to see some past blog posts of other sessions? Or do you just get in touch to discuss your needs. No family gathering is too big or too small! I look forward to hearing from you.

Are you looking for a pet photographer Surrey? I travel all over Surrey and beyond capturing happy families with their pets. I also do photoshoots solely for animals. So whatever your needs are, I’d be delighted to chat if you are looking for a pet photographer Surrey.
This was such a lovely family session including the two gorgeous dogs. Plus granny too with her lovely dog. It’s so important to include our furry friends. I have photographed so many different pets. For example cats, dogs, hamsters, guinea pigs, tortoises, horses, pigs, rabbits and chickens! I might have to draw the line at a snake though as I think I’m rather phobic.
It was a beautiful summary day when I arrived to take the pictures. The sun was shining and everyone was in great spirits. We moved around their beautiful garden capturing the family enjoying time together. We made sure that the dogs were in plenty of pictures of course.
The pond was a great focal point. Check out mummy duck with her little ducklings. They were so sweet! I’d imagine the water is a nice spot for the dogs to cool down in on a hot summers day. Thankfully there was no swimming on the shoot day though!
I have included below some examples of frames. I always do this at viewings so that it helps the family gather ideas about what to do with their portraits. Sometimes it can be quite overwhelming to see so many beautiful pictures. But I have some great software to help you choose what is right for your home and budget.

Are you looking for a teenage photographer Guildford Surrey? I really enjoyed this teenage session that I did a few weeks ago. This bright young lady who has recently finished her GCSEs, has a passion for acting.
She wanted a set of pictures that she could send to theatre agents. It was important to show how versatile she is. As with all acting sessions we took lots of pictures with different outfits and backgrounds and expressions. It’s amazing how different people look when you mix these up. Before the session we chatted about what to bring. You don’t have to buy new clothes however this young lady took it as a good opportunity to refresh her wardrobe.
When you arrive I look through the clothes that you have brought with you. It’s good to have four of five outfits so we have a choice to show the different sides of your personality.
If you have never had professional headshots before, that really doesn’t matter. I guide you through the whole process. As mentioned this starts with what to wear even before you arrive. Furthermore on the day I help get the most from your session. I will direct you through different expressions and thoughts helping to cast you in a range of roles.
A headshot session starts with a package of three pictures for £150. Or you can have a package with ten pictures for £300. I tend to do the sessions in the garden of the studio. But I’m happy to talk about locations of your choice too.
The shooting part of the session takes about 30 to 60 minutes. Then we load up the files onto the big screen in the studio. We run through them together to choose your favourites which I then edit. It’s a very easy relaxing and enjoyable experience from start to finish.
Next Steps
If you would like to read more about my headshot sessions please see this page. Maybe you’re looking for a family shoot for your teenager(s) so see this page. Or contact me to discuss further.

Portrait Photographer Woking
Last year I was so excited to be chosen as the portrait photographer for this wonderful Woking family. They wanted me to capture them over three occasions throughout the summer of 2019. The first two sessions were separate occasions. The brief was to photograph two family parties to celebrate milestone anniversaries with each of the parents sides of their families. The pictures below were from the last of their sessions with just their own children in their garden. It was great to get to know them over the summer. We always had so much fun and laughter together. Thankfully we always had good weather! If the forecast looks rainy, we postpone. Although the odd shower is usually ok. It depends on the season too.
This last session had to take place towards the end of September before the return of the elder children to University. It’s always a busy weekend for me as University students return from their summers away just in time to catch up with their parents, do their washing and head back to studying!
If you are looking to capture a special family occasion or just your family at home, I’d love to hear from you. You may wish to see my family page or contact me to chat further. Please do book ahead, particularly if you have a specific date in mind as my dairy tends to fill up months ahead.
The family kindly sent me these comments after – “Your patience is amazing. You deserve a medal. Thank you so much for all the amazing pictures”
My pleasure it was a treat capturing over the course of the summer. You have such a wonderful family, and it’s been fun capturing all sides of it!

It was lovely to return as the teenage photographer Surrey for this lovely family from Guildford. I had had the pleasure of photographing them a few years ago. But the children have grown so much in just a few years, it was time to add to the portraits that have been much loved on their walls.
We took a walk near their home up to the Chantries just outside of Guildford town. The woods are looking fantastic. It’s nice to have a photo shoot somewhere special to you. However if there is nowhere in particular I’m happy to make suggestions too.
The family had added a dog to the gang since the last time I photographed them. So it was very important to include this much loved new addition.
During the morning we had such a lovely time taking in the views, climbing, running and enjoying family time. During a typical family shoot I take different combinations of children and adults, children together and all family groupings. But each session is different so I’m happy to be led by what is important to you.
I love the sessions when teenagers are included to. Sometimes families consider this to be a tricky time for photographs! However I really don’t think it needs to be. I’m very happy for your teenager to express themselves anyway they wish to. I always like it when they help to direct the shoot. You shouldn’t force them into wearing something they arent comfortable in! I promise I won’t make them cringe with formal posed family groupings! It’s very relaxed throughout.
If you’re looking for a teenage photographer Surrey please do get in touch. If you would like to read more about family sessions see my family page. I look forward to hearing from you.

I’ve had some really delightful enquiries recently from people looking for Guildford portrait photography photo shoots. There are so many options for lovely locations for portrait photography around the Guildford area. Surrey is a wonderful place to live providing woodlands, parks and open fields.
The choice of location for your portrait photography is your choice. You are welcome to make suggestions. Maybe there is somewhere special to you as a family? If there is nowhere in particular, I am happy to make some suggestions.
This gorgeous portrait photography session took place near Guildford in a beautiful RHS garden. It was extra special because I had photographed the family a few years ago. It’s always a treat to catch up with families and to see how much the children have grown. Their daughters are delightful. Such a credit to their parents. They are very smiley and fun so it was very easy catching them. We enjoyed walking around the gardens, having fun and capturing them enjoying family time together. The flowers were looking amazing as they always do. They have some fantastic gardeners there I think!
After the session I had a very kind email from them.
“We were delighted with the images and both though there were some really stunning shots of the children. I think the girls’ cheeky personalities really came through and they looked so happy and joyous – perhaps it was easier with them being slightly older this time round!”
Thank you so much guys. It really was my pleasure. I’m so glad you love your portraits as much as I do.

For those of you who are visiting my site for the first time, I am a Cranleigh portrait photographer based just south of Guildford. I cover much of Surrey with family, headshot and commercial photography.
When clients approach me, first we discuss what you are looking for. This might be a mini photography session for just 2 to 3 people or it might be a family session for a family unit or an extended family shoot where we bring in grandparents and other family members. Each session is bespoke so we design it around your needs. All my sessions are taken outdoors using natural light. It’s much more fun for children to be outdoors than in a studio!
I loved this Cranleigh portrait photography session. I had photographed other members of their family a couple of years ago. So it was lovely that their recommendation lead to the session. It’s always fun to bring in pets, as in this case with their much loved dog. We took some pictures in the garden, followed by a short walk to a nearby woods where we caught the end of the autumn colours.
I had a very kind five-star review on Google after the session.
Kind Review
“Beautiful, thoughtful photos that totally captured the personalities of our two children. Nicola took the time to give excellent professional advice on how to choose from so many fantastic photos and make sure we have the right photos to enjoy for many years ahead. It was like choosing beautiful artwork for our walls….thank you.”
Thank you very much for your review, that’s really made my day reading that.
If you are looking for a Cranleigh portrait photographer or would like to chat please do get in contact. Or see my information page on family photography.

Are you looking for some family photography Haslemere?
I really enjoyed heading over to Haslemere for this family photography session to capture an old friend of mine with her gorgeous family. We took all the pictures in their beautiful garden. As a result, there was plenty of room to run around and play with their friendly dog and cat.
I had a very kind Google review following the session with the family.
“5* Absolutely fanastic pictures – we are thrilled.”
Thank you so much, it really was such a treat to see you and what a gorgeous family you have.
Next Steps
If you are thinking about having a family photography session in the Haslemere area or other locations around Surrey and surrounding counties I would be very happy to hear from you. I’m booking in July session dates onwards at the moment. Obviously the dates will be reviewed nearer the time depending on government guidelines.
Photography sessions can take place at a location of your choice. However, if there is nowhere in particular that is special to you, I am happy to make recommendations. Gardens, parks, and local beauty spots are all popular.
The session takes around 1 1/2 to 2 hours. We can take a combination of pictures that are important to you. As well as your immediate family you’re welcome to bring in grandparents or older adult siblings.
I cover lots of milestone birthdays and wedding anniversaries which are all the more special when you bring a group of people together at a happy time.

Stay safe in the meantime, I hope you’re embracing the extra relaxed family time together at home.

Are you looking for a Godalming portrait photographer? Perhaps this blog post might help give you a little bit more information about my photography sessions. After all, it’s so important to get a flavour of the photographer that you want to choose to capture your wonderful family.
As you will see I love to shoot outdoors. It’s far more natural for children than being in a studio. Being outdoors they can move, run, jump, and reveal their personalities.
Mostly my clients choose the location. This could be your garden or somewhere local to you that you enjoy spending time. Or it might be a National Trust gardens or other Public gardens.
This beautiful session late last summer started at about 4 pm so we had that beautiful soft end of day sunshine. We started taking a few pictures in the garden, and then had a wander down the lane with their friendly dog. The children led the way and we found some beautiful places to photograph them having fun.
Maybe you have a favourite view or a bench where you enjoy sitting together. Do your children love climbing a particular tree? Maybe there’s a walk that your dog loves. It’s good to chat through where is important to you.
After their viewing the family kindly sent me an email to say “We loved so many of them.”
My pleasure! It was great fun and I am so pleased you love them as much as I do.
If you would like to read more information about a Godalming portrait photography session with me, see my further information. Feel free to get in touch to discuss further.
If you would like to see further examples of previous sessions in Surrey, then check out my family galleries page.

Are you looking for a portrait photographer? I travel to all areas in Surrey like Guildford, Godalming, Woking and beyond. What a fantastic time I had with this gorgeous family for their third family shoot with me last summer.
The family choose to have their portraits taken in a beautiful local gardens. It was lovely that they included grandparents too. I love including all the different generations because it’ll be so special looking back at them in years to come.
I am certainly thinking a lot about my children’s grandparents at the moment. They are really missing seeing my children. We are having video calls which helps but there’s nothing like a proper cuddle and time together. I’m so glad we’ve got some lovely family pictures of them around the house. This helps my children feel closer to them by having a constant reminder around our home.
As with all my sessions, this family shoot was very relaxed walking around, taking time to enjoy each other’s company.
The kids are great fun so it was a very easy photo shoot. We had lots of jumping, running, and cuddling their favourite soft animals. It’s lovely to have cuddly animals or pets along as they are a much loved part of the family unit!
Now more than ever we are realising how important family time is and looking forward to celebrating a time in the future when we are back together again. If you’d like to book a family session for later in the year I will be booking in multigenerational sessions from late summer onwards. Hopefully by then we will be reunited with our grandparents and can enjoy family time together (guidelines permitting).
Please do get in touch if you are looking for a portrait photographer. My diary is extremely busy for the rest of the year due to postponement of some sessions during the spring. So please try to think ahead when planning a family session.
