I loved this Woking family photography shoot that I took last month. The family booked the session as a voucher last year. We had such a great time from start to finish. It was lovely that we also had granny along with us. We took our time exploring the gardens which were looking stunning. We enjoyed the swings, some running races, playing in the long grass and climbing statues!
I tend to let children direct the shoot. It’s lovely when they show me where they want to go and what they want to do.
You’ll be able to see below some examples of the frames I showed them at the viewing session. I always include some examples as it helps to get you thinking about what you might want to do with your portraits. There are lots of examples in the studio so you can have a look during your viewing for. I’m happy to advise you on choosing a frame that will suit your home, your personality and your budget.
Kind Review
I had such a lovely five star review from them after. ”Nicola made our family photo shoot in our favourite local gardens a natural, easy and thoroughly enjoyable experience. The stunning images that Nicola produced capture really special moments of a lovely day. So much so that I was really quite emotional during the slideshow. We are looking forward to adding her beautiful images to our home.” It was absolutely my pleasure. Thank you so much for choosing me. I really enjoyed our time together.
If you would like to read more about Woking family photography sessions please see my family page. Or contact me to discuss further. I travel all over Surrey and beyond capturing families of all sizes. I also do headshots and corporate photography.

Guildford Surrey children’s photography
I really loved the Surrey children’s photography session for this boy from Guildford. He was looking for a set of pictures for his acting portfolio. His Lamda teacher has been sending her students to me for a while. It’s always such a pleasure to meet these children who have such obvious talent. This young man was extremely mature, polite and will no doubt go far.
Reviews
It was such a delight to read these two google five-star reviews after the session.
“It was such a great experience! I really enjoyed having the photos taken and going through them as well. Nicola was really lovely and knew exactly which type of shots I needed. It was great to have a contrast of background in the photos. Even though I can’t smile, Nicola helped with every aspect and they all turned out amazingly.”
“My son has just been for a headshot session with Nicola. We are thrilled with the whole experience! He was pretty nervous going in, but five minutes into the shoot, he relaxed and loved every minute. In addition Nicola gave him loads of ideas and tips and her garden makes for a beautiful setting. Most importantly the final results are stunning. Therefore I couldn’t recommend Nicola highly enough!”
Thank you so much guys, it really was my pleasure. I’m so glad you loved your portraits as much as I did.
As with all headshot sessions, you are welcome to bring several changes of clothes. This helps to mix up your look, along with a range of expressions and backgrounds. It’s important to show your versatility to casting agents. All these headshots were taken in the studio garden. This enables us to upload the pictures to the big screen straight after and for you to choose your favourites. It’s a very easy relaxing process.

It was another beautiful day for this family photography Woking session at this National Trust garden. I met the family last year at a Christmas fair where they bought a voucher. The parents are also getting married in September. I am delighted to be covering this small wedding for them. It’s at the Four Seasons Hotel in Hampshire which I hear is rather nice! So I can’t wait for that.
So this family session was a great opportunity to get to know them better. We can also use one of the family shots in a mounted signboard for their big day.
We had a great afternoon looking around the gardens. The little girl was great fun. She really got into directing the shoot and posing!
It was the first time I have been to a National Trust place since the pandemic. But it was very easy and enjoyable. There were one-way signs around the garden to avoid getting close to people. Everyone was being very respectful. The garden was looking beautiful so we had plenty of choice to take the pictures.
More Information
If you would like to visit one of the National Trust properties, the tickets are released every Friday morning. If you go online you can choose your slot the following week. Tickets are limited so you don’t need to worry about overcrowding. It’s great to support charities like the National Trust who have lost so much funding over the last few months.
If you are looking for family photography Woking then please do get in touch. You may wish to see my family page or blog post. My summer dates are almost full and the autumn is limited now. So I would suggest getting in touch sooner rather than later. I look forward to hearing from you.

Portrait Photographer Woking
Last year I was so excited to be chosen as the portrait photographer for this wonderful Woking family. They wanted me to capture them over three occasions throughout the summer of 2019. The first two sessions were separate occasions. The brief was to photograph two family parties to celebrate milestone anniversaries with each of the parents sides of their families. The pictures below were from the last of their sessions with just their own children in their garden. It was great to get to know them over the summer. We always had so much fun and laughter together. Thankfully we always had good weather! If the forecast looks rainy, we postpone. Although the odd shower is usually ok. It depends on the season too.
This last session had to take place towards the end of September before the return of the elder children to University. It’s always a busy weekend for me as University students return from their summers away just in time to catch up with their parents, do their washing and head back to studying!
If you are looking to capture a special family occasion or just your family at home, I’d love to hear from you. You may wish to see my family page or contact me to chat further. Please do book ahead, particularly if you have a specific date in mind as my dairy tends to fill up months ahead.
The family kindly sent me these comments after – “Your patience is amazing. You deserve a medal. Thank you so much for all the amazing pictures”
My pleasure it was a treat capturing over the course of the summer. You have such a wonderful family, and it’s been fun capturing all sides of it!

I adored this Guildford family photography session. The family had been given a voucher for the session for Christmas last year. So it was great to talk the family through how the photography session would work and where to shoot. I also talked them through and sent them more information on how best to prepare for their session.
Of course the location was going to be their amazing farm in Godalming Surrey. Approaching the house up the sweeping driveway gave me a great feeling about the family photo shoot. There were sheep in the field to the left of me. I couldn’t help but stop for a couple of minutes to watch them munching on the grass. I was very pleased to later take a walk down to the field with the family. We got amongst the sheep who were excellent models! Their favourite is Barbara who was quite a character and enjoyed joining in.
Around the farm we went to all the places that are special to the family. It was important to include their lovely art pieces. The pig was beautifully painted by the mum! The fields were looking stunning. I love the long daisies. Naturally we had along that puppy. He was ever so cute. Quite a character and obviously centre of attention.
I had a lovely email after the session.”Thank you so much for everything. You’ve made the whole process a joy when it could have been nerve racking. Every time we look at the photos we’ll remember the fun we had and the time we had with you. Such a gift you have for creating happy memories.” Thank you my pleasure, I really enjoyed it!
More information
If you are looking for a Guildford family photography session I would be delighted to help you. I am in full swing now with so many family sessions. Obviously I didn’t shoot in March and April or much in May. However now using social distance guidelines I am out and about and enjoying family sessions again. As you can see from the session below it’s a great time to get some pictures taken. My diary is pretty hectic over the summer, so if you do want a session, get in touch sooner rather than later. I really enjoyed this Guildford family portrait photography session that I took a few weeks ago. The family had received the voucher as a Christmas gift last December. We had a discussion about where the shoot would take place. These thoughts tend to centre around somewhere that is special to my client. If there is a no where in particular I will make some suggestions. Subsequently we met at the car park near the top of St Martha’s Hill near Guildford. The family live nearby and enjoy regular walks there. The whole family were delightful. The boys were great fun. As you can see from the pictures there was lots of messing about on the shoot. My sessions are about as far away as you can get from a staged formal studio photography session!
The family brief was to get pictures of all the family, the boys together plus some single portraits of the boys. We also took a few of the eldest son with his lovely girlfriend too.
I loved the swing. Everyone had a go, even the mum! I particularly like the silhouette shots of them looking out into the distance. You can see some great examples of what to do with these portraits at the end of the set of pictures. These ideas are always presented to you at the end of your viewing session. It helps you start to think about what to do with your pictures. Without this, it can be quite overwhelming. But seeing your pictures in frames, and seeing lots of examples around the viewing room, helps you to narrow down your choices to best suit your home and personality.
The family kindly left me a 5* review after ‘Fantastic experience with a very good photographer. She captured our sons characters to a tee. Highly recommended.’ Thanks so much!

Are you looking for a family photographer Worplesdon? I travel all over Surrey and further counties capturing families having fun together.
I am very excited to share this gorgeous family session that took place in the garden of their Worplesdon home. The family were great fun. The children were really happy playing in the garden showing me all their favourite places.
Sometimes before a shoot, parents tell me that their children might not suit a formal photography shoot. This is, as you can see, no problem with me! Although some of your family pictures will be traditional groupings for example the whole family, I try to do it in a way that is natural and relaxed. We always add in fun things like running races or jumping, possibly tree climbing. It depends what the children want to do. But my style is certainly not formal!
I was so excited when the family came in to see their pictures. I was delighted that they were thrilled. They had such a great selection to choose from. This is testament to what a great job the children did on the day!
I had a lovely 5* review and testimony from the family after.
“Thanks so much for your time yesterday! It was so lovely to look through all the wonderful photos with you in your beautiful home. Thank you for being so patient with us and for working through our choices with us so carefully. I can’t wait to see the framed prints and have been deciding today where to put them in our house.”
Thank you so much it was my pleasure. If you’re looking for a family photographer Worplesdon please do get in touch. I’ll be booking outdoor sessions based on the latest government guidelines. If you’d like to see more information see my family page.

Teenage photography Surrey
Do you have teenagers in your family? You might be considering getting some family photography taken or want a shoot just for the children. My teenage photography sessions are very popular particularly when the children are leaving school and perhaps heading off to university. I travel all over Surrey and beyond for the teenage photography sessions. You choose the venue, maybe your garden or somewhere special that the teens like to go. If there is nowhere in particular I am happy to suggest in options.
Some people might consider the teenage years to be a bit awkward. But I’ve always had such a brilliant time with the teens I have photographed. By the time the children have hit 13 or so they really decide what they want to do on the shoot. So I really hand over to them to think about what we do, to capture them in a natural way. Of course they will also be deciding what to wear. So parents please let them express themselves whilst diplomatically also considering my what to wear guide!!
I really enjoyed reading this kind review by the family after.
“Nicola is a great photographer with a style that really puts people at ease. Following some great headshots for my own business I then arranged to have some family photos done which we excellent with everyone enjoying the process as well. Can’t recommend enough.”
Thank you so much for such a lovely review! That has made my day reading that!
If you have teenagers and are looking for a professional photographer to capture them, please do look at my information pages, past blog sessions or contact me to discuss your bespoke session needs. I look forward to hearing from you.

Are you looking for a family photoshoot Cobham? I travel all over Surrey and beyond capturing happy families relaxing and enjoying time together. Each session is bespoke so we can chat about what combinations are important to you. The venue can be your garden or somewhere that you like to go as a family. Or I can make some suggestions if there is nowhere in particular. Before your session I will send you a guide to preparing for it. So that you’ll be ready to go on the day.
I adored this session that I took last autumn at a really stunning arboretum that comes alive in the middle of October. The colours are magnificent, an array of orange, yellow, red and gold. It really feels rather magical for a family photoshoot.
The family are fantastic fun. I think this is either my fourth or fifth photo shoot for them! The first one was when the little girl was just two and the brother was in mummy’s tummy! So it’s been such a pleasure documenting the family along their journey.
As you will see from the pictures below we had a really fun time.
The family were very kind to give me a lovely testimonial afterwards. Thank you so much.
“We had a fantastic time during our most recent photoshoot with Nicola, this time having it in Autumn when the previous ones have been in spring/summer. I was absolutely thrilled to see the photos at the viewing session. She once again captured the most beautiful photos, and I love the autumn colours so much!”

Here is such a lovely example of one of my family photography Guildford shoots. People have been asking what does a socially distanced shoot look like? Well not much different really! Just a few changes to keep us as safe as possible while still retaining ALL the fun!
Much like when you greet new people nowadays I won’t shake your hand. However there is lots of waving and smiling and still getting to know each other! I’ll keep at least 2 m from you. This is easy as I tend to shoot with a long lens. I always have done because it means I can be a bit further from you. Allowing you space to play, relax and feel natural rather than being in your face!
If either of us feel any sign of illness, we let each other know of course. But there won’t be any temperature taking on arrival!
I am still offering in person viewings at the studio in Cranleigh. I feel this is still really important because I can guide you through what to do with your portraits. I have moved the furniture around so that you are at least 2 m from me. Naturally I have plenty of hand sanitiser too!
This family photography session taken near Guildford in Surrey was such a delight. The family have the most beautiful garden so it was easy to find great spots to take the pictures. I loved the swing too! The children were such fun and I didn’t want to leave at the end! They have now been in to see their pictures and I am delighted they not only had such a great morning but they adore their pictures too.
