I absolutely loved this mini photo shoot Surrey in the summer. I have been lucky enough to document this gorgeous little chap’s life since he was a newborn. His gorgeous Mummies had booked into my baby programme so we had such a lovely time documenting the first year of his life.
I was so happy to hear from them again to book in a mini photo shoot now he is 2! It’s always lovely to catch up with a family. I am always amazed about how quickly children have grown, even though I have 2 children of my own.
My mini shoots take place near the studio so that we can shoot and view the pictures straight after on the same day. Although on occasion I can do a gallery if it suits you better. I give you advice before about what to bring, and what to wear. This means you are relaxed and ready to go on the day!
This session took place in the beautiful Winterfold Woods in late afternoon. Check out that gorgeous light! We had such a lovely time. Their little boy was full of energy so we took full advantage with lots of running, hiding and playing. Each session is tailored to your family, so there is no set prescription!
The duration of the mini sessions are about 30 minutes shooting so are best for 3-4 people. If you have more people in your group a full family session will usually suit you better. For more information on family sessions check out my family page. If you would like to see more examples of past MINI SESSIONS SEE THIS INFORMATION PAGE.

What a wonderful time I had as the Surrey birthday party photographer with this fabulous family. They were all together celebrating a very special birthday! The birthday girl looked radiant and I had to double check her age as I couldn’t believe it! She looked so great!
With some of the family travelling over from Canada, it was the first time the family had all been together for a few years. So it was an extra special celebration.
The family wanted a mix of more casual groups and some more reportage style pictures of them having drinks before they headed off for lunch at a local restaurant. The location was their home so it was very relaxing. The garden was stunning so we were spoilt for choice as to where to shoot!
It was my pleasure and honour to capture such a special morning. The choice of style of the session is up to you. Perhaps you would like some formal groups, or more casual groups? Then some telling the story of the celebration. Please do mention if anyone has any special needs, it’s no problem.
Before your session we will chat about location. Perhaps you would like to have it in your garden? Or at a venue where you are celebrating.
If you would like to see some examples of other sessions, please see my blog or family page. From children’s parties, to Christening, Holy Communions, milestone birthdays and weddings, I would be delighted to chat through ideas for your special party celebrations. Please do contact me.

This gorgeous family were looking for an Ashtead family photographer. They wanted to capture their family with the children and grandparents and siblings. These multi generational shoots are always so lovely. It’s great to see the different generations coming together.
The session was bought as a Christmas voucher. I offer the vouchers throughout the year, but they’re especially popular as Christmas gifts. After New Year the family got in contact to decide on their date and where we would do the shoot. They wanted it to be in the grandparents garden. This is a great idea because obviously it’s very special to them. This is a place where they enjoy hanging out enjoying family time. They chose the month that their garden looked best.
I spent around two hours with them taking lots of different combinations. We had talked through some ideas as part of the pre-session planning. I love the bright yellow bench. As soon as I saw it I thought we had to use it!
I had such a lovely review from the family after the session.
‘Nicola was so wonderful from start to finish with our family photo session. The photos are absolutely amazing and the finished product – all framed and up on the wall – makes us all so happy. I would highly recommend Nicola and we will certainly be back for more photos to celebrate a family occasion again.’
That’s such a lovely review, thank you so much. I really enjoyed all aspects of the shoot!

Looking for family photography Ashtead Surrey? I travel all over Surrey and the surrounding counties.
I was so delighted to hear from this family who I first photographed when they had their first child. It’s always a treat to be invited back to capture a family again. So with another addition of their gorgeous daughter it was time to take some more family pictures.
I went back to their home to capture them in their garden. The children felt relaxed and comfortable there. They enjoyed showing me all their favourite places they like to play. It was lovely that we included Teddy! Do Bring any special toys, books, or cuddlies! It makes it all the more personal to record.
In the latter part of the shoot the children needed a reward as a carrot. Therefore the temptation of the ice lollies was dangled in front of them! As a result is was easy to get the last few smiles and reward them because they had been so good!
The choice of location is up to you. Perhaps your garden, or somewhere you enjoy spending time as a family. If there is nowhere in particular I am happy to make some suggestions. This is often dependent on the time of year you would like to shoot. For example an arboretum is perfect in the autumn.
Kind thoughts
I had a lovely message from the family after their frames had been delivered.
“The frames have arrived and they are simply fantastic. Thank you so much – you have captured some wonderful moments to treasure.”
My absolute pleasure, I’m so pleased they’ve bought so much happiness.
Perhaps you would like to see some more information about other family sessions. Including pricing. In addition do check out the information page and the blog. Alternatively send me a message on my contact page or call me. I’d love to chat about a family photography session.

Are you looking for an RAC Club Epsom photographer for a family occasion? The RAC Woodcote Park in Epsom is a really special place. I have been lucky enough to photograph several family sessions there.
There is always so much to see and do. Near the top car park there’s a gorgeous children’s play area. It’s full of wooden animals, things to jump on and off, benches and dens. As you can see, we took full advantage of this gorgeous play area for this little girl with her parents and grandparents. They chose the RAC Epsom bcause they are members and go regularly. So it’s a place that is very special to them.
With every session you get to choose where we shoot. If there is nowhere in particular, I can make some suggestions.
The photo shoot took around two hours. During that time we walked through the play area, past the clubhouse exploring the grounds. To be honest it was a very easy fun session because the little girl is absolutely delightful! This is her third session with me so we’re getting to know each other well.
Aren’t the poppies gorgeous? It was a real treat to come round the corner and discover these. Of course we had to incorporate these into the shoot. We also discovered a giant chess set in front of the clubhouse. So we made time to make a few moves!
The family choose some gorgeous portraits to frame and also a portrait book. My portrait books and include about 40 images and makes such a beautiful coffee table piece.

Hello! I am a Weybridge family photographer. I cover all areas around Surrey and beyond. This is a great example of a Weybridge family photographer session. The family choose their garden for the pictures. I can understand why, as it was absolutely gorgeous.
The choice of location is yours. You may wish to consider your garden, or somewhere special that you like to go. This might be your favourite woods, local gardens or park. If there is nowhere in particular, I’m very happy to make some suggestions.
This family wanted to have a clothes changes. Having planned this in advance, the family changed to create a different dynamic for their portraits. Their choice of clothing looked great. The colours coordinated really well. Before your session I send you a guide to what to wear. I’m also happy to discuss it with you to make sure you are ready on the day.
We took lots of combinations as you will see. With the addition of a grandparent we enjoyed adding in combinations of all the three generations. As you will see we had to get their big dogs in too! I have to admit they were a bit scary though as they were huge! I’m more of a cat than a dog person to be honest. The family introduced me to the dogs slowly and carefully, so they knew I was a friend. Thankfully this went well as I didn’t fancy being on the wrong side of them!

Family Photoshoot
Are you looking to book an Epsom family photoshoot? I travel all over Surrey and beyond. The shoot can take place in your garden, or somewhere special you like to go as a family. If there is nowhere in particular I’m happy to make some suggestions.
This extended family group was such good fun. As usual with the larger groups, we took a variety of different combinations. Each session is bespoke, but popular combinations include everyone group shots, grandparents with grandchildren and smaller family unit combinations. Of course pets are very much welcome too!
Before each session you will receive a guide to preparing, so you all ready to go on the day!
Kind review
I had such a lovely testimonial from the family afterwards, thank you so much. “We are thoroughly delighted with the superb photographs taken by Nicola of our large family group. Such a diverse group must be challenging for a photographer. But Nicola was ceaselessly patient and inventive in engaging the children, even a sceptical toddler. I was particularly impressed by the way she chose the creative backdrops. Their variety, enhanced each photograph. She offered enormous flexibility in helping us make our choices and was really helpful right through the process. The entire experience from start to finish was hugely enjoyable and very much to be recommended.”
Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a lovely review. It was such a treat to photograph your extended family group. I didn’t want to leave at the end! We were having such fun.

Are you looking for a Rudgwick family photographer? (I do commercial photography and headshots too!)
I cover all of West Sussex, Surrey and surrounding counties. I have been capturing happy families for over 10 years now. I am very proud to love the job I do! I really enjoyed capturing this West Sussex family. The pictures were especially poignant because the family will be moving house over the summer. So it’ll be important for the boys to have captured these memories in their first childhood home.
The garden is lovely, with plenty of spring colour still. As you can see, the boys are very active. So it was important to capture what they love most about their home. So lots of jumping, running, swinging, trampolining, cricket and piggybacks. In addition playing with their excitable spaniel who was absolutely gorgeous! This was all interspersed with cuddles from their parents. The family are so lovely, I thoroughly enjoyed capturing them at home.
The location for your shoot is up to you. Perhaps you would like to have the photographs taken at home? Or maybe a favourite park or local gardens. It’s best to think of somewhere that is special to you. But don’t worry, if there is nowhere in particular, I can make some suggestions.
Before your session I will send you a guide to preparing for your session. This will also include the all important ‘what to wear‘ guide! I’ll also talk about what to bring with you and what to expect on the day. Of course we will run through how to choose your favourites for the viewing session too. I do lots of examples of frames, like the ones you can see below.
