Family photography Peaslake Surrey.
I had such a lovely Family Photographer Peaslake Surrey session with this mother and her three beautiful daughters. The session had been bought by her brother for her birthday.
Before the session we discussed where would be the best place to shoot. This could be in your garden or somewhere special that you like to go as a family. If there are no particular places I can make some suggestions. My suggestions vary throughout the year depending on the seasonal flowers.
We will also discuss what to wear. I have a page dedicated to this on my website. Avoiding too many patterns and stripes across the group is advisable. Also choosing maybe two or three colours works best. You don’t need to go out and buy any new clothes, unless you’re looking for a good excuse!
The sessions tend to last a couple of hours usually. Sometimes slightly less for younger children. We usually have a walk around taking pictures as we go. There is plenty of time to relax and have fun.
I tend to take pictures of the whole family group. Also individual portrait if you would like and other combinations like siblings together with each parent and child. But each session is bespoke to you, so the choice is yours.
A week or so after your session. You come into the studio to view your pictures on the big screen. At this point, you can choose what you would like to purchase such a frames, canvases and digital files. There are lots of examples of frames on the walls, to give you inspiration.

Do you live in the Surrey and are looking for a Family Photographer Churt? I travel all over capturing gorgeous families at home or on location. I loved this session capturing this family of seven at home in the summer.
They were great fun and their home and garden was stunning. You’re welcome to have the pictures taken at home.
Or if you prefer somewhere out and about at a special to you. If there’s nowhere in particular that comes to mind, I can make some suggestions. When I first arrive, I usually have a little walk around the garden to familiarise myself with the location. If I’m new to a park or woods that you have chosen I do the same. I’m checking out the best light, interesting backdrops, and how this will flow through the shoot. If anyone has any disabilities, this is not a problem. Just mention this when I ask before the shoot.
We had a great time taking the pictures in this beautiful garden. I soon found some lovely spots that had some natural framing. There was a gorgeous old tree stump that looked great when the children were all perched on it. The solid black garage doors were also an excellent backdrop. Clients are often quite surprised when I get excited about areas that they would never have thought about! It was a very hot day, so I suggested they all dip their legs into the pool! I have had clients in the past, who have jumped in at the end with all their clothes on!
If you would like to discuss a family photography session in Churt or other areas around Surrey or beyond, please do get in contact. For more information of family sessions, please see this page.

Are you looking for a holy communion photographer Surrey? I would love to be able to help. This is a lovely example of a reception which took place after their service at the very beautiful Foxhills . This is a beautiful venue, with lovely old buildings, a spa, pool and well renowned golf course.
Perhaps you would like some pictures taken during the service or only after. The choice is yours. This gorgeous little girl and family hired a room in the fabulous Foxhills Golf course to celebrate with friends and family. So I joined them in the garden, on quite a windy day to capture the family and guests.
We took some pictures of the immediate family on the lawn. Then as guests arrived I took some reportage pictures and ones of the little girl and her friends running about having such a lovely time. They were so sweet together. Far more interested in running about that eating. Although the cake looked very tempting!
We wanted to capture the detail of the day especially her exquisite dress. I am sure it is any little girl’s dream to be dressed up like this! Personally I think I would have loved it, I certainly felt very special on my wedding day.
I also cover baptisms and others milestone family birthdays. I am usually with you for a couple of hours but I can quote for longer too. The session fee for a couple of hours is £175. You can read more about my pricing on this page.

I am a family photographer Claygate and have the privilege to photograph gorgeous families all over Surrey. Sometimes families choose their garden, or a local park that is special to them. Maybe there is a woods that your children love to climb their favourite tree, or parkland they love to ride their bikes? If there is nowhere in particular I am happy to page some suggestions local to you.
This beautiful family session in Claygate took place one sunny summer Saturday. The family chose their garden because it’s so beautiful and the boys love playing there.
We talked before about what time of day would suit the boys best, and of course what to wear. This is one of the most common questions I get asked! I have a dedicated page of advice to make this as easy as possible for you. You don’t need to go out and buy lots of new clothes, although if you’d like to use it as an excuse, you’re welcome! It’s all about choosing two or three colours that run across your family. It’s ok to have some pattern but use it sparingly on one or two people only. Try to avoid big logos or writing that can be distracting. You are welcome to send me ideas of outfits. Clients often lay different combinations out on the bed, take a photo to see what I think. Pre planning on all aspects allows you to be calm and relaxed on the day!
The family on this shoot were so lovely, the boys were great fun and full of energy for me!

I really enjoyed this session as the Rushmoor Frensham Family Photographer for this family session in the summer. What an amazing setting! We took some pictures in the garden first then headed out to Frensham ponds via a gate at the end of their garden. Of course we took their gorgeous dog with us. He knew the walk very well! What a great place to be a dog!
The location and weather were perfect. But don’t panic if the forecast is for showers as the shoot approaches. The forecast is only really accurate about 24 hours before. That’s when I keep a keen eye on the rain radar maps. I have become an expert weather forecast in the past few weeks. See forecasts are far more accurate than others. The odd short shower is ok, but anything more substantial and we usually try to rearrange for later the same day or the nearest alternative option. Please be reassured I want you to look your best so I always leave the final decision to go ahead (or not) to you.
I didn’t know the area that well, so relied on the family to show me all their favourite places. I loved the bench they chose for some of the shots. It had the perfect lighting and composition. It’s where they are partial to a G&T some summer evenings! I am not surprised with that setting.
If you have teens in the shoot, it’s good to let them have an input in the location and what to wear. I want them to feel happy to be there and comfortable in themselves.
If you would like see more information on older children’s session please see my blog or check out my information page. Or contact me to discuss further.

It has been all go with this Horsham Family photography session recently. What a gorgeous family with such beautiful boys! They were delightful from start to finish, and just so polite for such young boys. I was so impressed.
We took the pictures at home so that the family could remember their memories somewhere special to them. The garden was spacious so gave the boys the freedom to run and hide! It very important to happy with the location you pick. This can be at home or somewhere special you like to go as family. If there is no where in particular, I am happy to make some suggestions. There are lots of lovely local places.
We took lots of different combinations of the family. We also included the grandparents in a few of the shots. They were visiting for several weeks from China so were really treasuring their time with the boys.
It was lovely to take some pictures inside in the playroom too. The boys love their trains and are really into dinosaurs too. So it was important to capture them playing with these to remember what they loved at this young age.
My son was really into trains and used to play with his wooden train set for hours. I couldn’t bare to give it away when he no longer played with it. So I have put it in the loft in anticipation of grandchildren! Well hopefully not for the next 15 years at least though!

Hands up if you need a Birthday Party Photographer Surrey for an upcoming event!? Maybe a milestone birthday or anniversary. Perhaps a wedding or baptism. If the answer is yes, check this out! This was from a fabulous 80th birthday party in Surrey. Doesn’t the birthday lady look absolutely amazing (pink jacket).
The family wanted to capture some reportage style pictures of the party plus a few group shots. So we started off taking some pictures outside in the garden. Thankfully the weather was lovely. We then moved inside for lunch. I took some during the meal, and during the speeches after. There was a rather wonderful cake, which I had to capture. I had a slice as well which was delicious! I then took some other pictures back outside to complete the party.
Each party is different, so I can meet your individual needs. It’s best to chat through the plan of your day and when it will be most useful to capture.
Sessions start from £175 for two hours. You’re more than welcome to add on extra hours.
Please note, I am a natural light photographer so prefer to work during daylight hours. Rather than a night time evening event.
I had a lovely email from the family afterwards. “Thank you so much Nicola. You have captured the day perfectly. I have such a wonderful set of memories to look back over.”
If you’d like to see other examples of birthdays, weddings, christenings follow the links!
Feel free to contact me to discuss your party plans. There is a contact form or email or call me I’m happy to travel although do charge a little if it’s further than an hour from me in GU6.
I look forward to hearing from you.

Fairmile Family Photographer, are you looking for someone to capture your family?
This was such a dreamy session. The little girls couldn’t have been any sweeter. From the very beginning, they were all smiles and wanting to show me their garden.
The Fairmile garden was lovely and lent itself very well to a family shoot. There are lots of gorgeous little areas, the added variety and fun. I loved that. We captured their cute wigwam. In a few years time they’ll have outgrown it so it was very special to capture it now. I can remember my son had a fabulous wigwam with lots of Cowboys on it. It was his absolute favourite thing spending hours on it. So I’m very glad I’ve got some pictures of him in it because now it’s nowhere to be seen! But I want to remember those memories of younger days.
The girls love their scooters and bouncy balls. So we had to get those out to add some more fun as well. They have a gorgeous dog so she was included in some of the shots towards the end as well. I love including animals in your session. I’ve had all sorts of animals in sessions. From cats and dogs to rabbits, guinea pigs, chickens and tortoises! I’ve even had larger animals, like horses, cows and pigs!
Your choice of clothing is up to you. Before your session, I can give you advice about what to wear. If you’d like to do a video call just to run through it before your session, no problem.
If you would like to see further examples of family sessions, please see my family page. You may also wish to check out my blog. Or contact me to discuss further.

I absolutely loved this mini photo shoot Surrey in the summer. I have been lucky enough to document this gorgeous little chap’s life since he was a newborn. His gorgeous Mummies had booked into my baby programme so we had such a lovely time documenting the first year of his life.
I was so happy to hear from them again to book in a mini photo shoot now he is 2! It’s always lovely to catch up with a family. I am always amazed about how quickly children have grown, even though I have 2 children of my own.
My mini shoots take place near the studio so that we can shoot and view the pictures straight after on the same day. Although on occasion I can do a gallery if it suits you better. I give you advice before about what to bring, and what to wear. This means you are relaxed and ready to go on the day!
This session took place in the beautiful Winterfold Woods in late afternoon. Check out that gorgeous light! We had such a lovely time. Their little boy was full of energy so we took full advantage with lots of running, hiding and playing. Each session is tailored to your family, so there is no set prescription!
The duration of the mini sessions are about 30 minutes shooting so are best for 3-4 people. If you have more people in your group a full family session will usually suit you better. For more information on family sessions check out my family page. If you would like to see more examples of past MINI SESSIONS SEE THIS INFORMATION PAGE.
