I absolutely loved this Guildford baby photo shoot. I undertook the session a couple of weeks ago at some beautiful local gardens. We met early on a warm sunday morning. It was just outside Guildford in Surrey for the baby photo shoot. After meeting, we enjoyed spending time getting to know each other and finding the best way of capturing their family enjoying time together. We had a great time exploring the gardens which were looking absolutely stunning. I wish my garden looked as good as this. I think I might have to have another read of my gardening book as I am not sure I naturally have such green fingers!
The babies were so alert taking in their new surroundings. They were very easy going and clearly happy enjoying time with doting mummy and daddy.
The gorgeous twins are only 11 months old. Can you believe that the little girl has just started walking! I am sure her brother will not be far behind once he sees the fun she is having getting to whatever she wants so quickly! I could not believe it, I don’t think I have ever seen a baby walk that early. My daughter was only on the verge of crawling at this stage!
Planning
A few days before the session we scheduled a FaceTime call to help the family make some decisions on what to wear. They talked me through some options and we played about with some colours and different combinations. When they turned up I was pleased that my advice had helped. I am thrilled that the family loved their pictures so much. They found it too hard to narrow down their choice to just their favourites so they chose to take all the pictures, and what a wonderful record it will be in years to come!
If you are looking for advice on what to wear. Do follow the link so that you can be informed for your session. For more information on family sessions including examples on past sessions that I have blogged, follow the links. Or contact me to chat further . I look forward to hearing from you

Guildford Baby Photographer
I loved being the Guildford baby photographer for these doting parents and their adorable 3 month old baby girl. She was so perfect in every way and the bond between parents and baby was already so clear to see. I just love the peachy colour of her baby skin, and recording those little details like hands and feet. They grow so quickly so it’s easy to forget just how small they once were! One day you are leaving the maternity ward. The next you seem to be blowing out the candles from their first birthday cake!
We took some of the pictures inside and then moved out into the garden to get some in the spring sunshine. What a gorgeous little Peter rabbit dress and those shoes were the cutest!
You are welcome to have the photos taken in the studio or the comfort of your own home. You may feel more comfortable in your own home especially if it is your first baby! In those early days it’s a miracle if you can find time to even get dressed! Or maybe that was just me!!!
I was so pleased that the parents thought the portraits were ‘wonderful’, I did too! It always helps having some examples of what your pictures could look like framed. So I have some clever software to achieve this. It’s a great starting point when seeing 50+ portraits for the first time! I have so many gorgeous frames and mounts, so there is something to suit everyone’s style and budget.
If you’re looking for baby or family photography so see more information on my baby or family pages, galleries or past blogs. Or get in touch to discuss further. Many thanks, I look forward to hearing from you.
Family Photographer in Godalming
I am so pleased that these lovely parents chose me as their family photographer in Godalming, Surrey. They first approached me last summer enquiring about my baby photography package which includes 3 shoots over the first 12-18 months of a baby’s life. Having chatted through what timings would work best for them, we started off with their maternity shoot. This was at Newlands Corner last August, swiftly followed in September with they ‘at home’ newborn shoot. Both of which were such a wonderful reminder of their special time anticipating the arrival of their baby. Then the happy days following Sophie’s safe arrival when they were just starting to get to know their beautiful newborn baby!
Next Stage
Now six months on and it was time to catch up again to see how much Sophie had grown. In addition what had been happening during those busy first 6 months! As you can see Sophie’s parents are understandable besotted with her. She really is such a cutie! She smiled from start to finish and so did her parents so it was clear to see their bond is very strong. We had so much fun playing and exploring the gardens. It was delightful to have along both sets of doting grandparents too. Sophie was certainly the centre of attention and loving every minute of it!
It’s so special to record children with grandparents, it’s such an important part of documenting history. I know I look back fondly on photographs of my children with my Mum and Dad.
Sophie’s Mum said after their viewing. “Stunning photos yet again, and so many special moments captured to look back on for a long time. Can’t wait to get them on the wall!” My pleasure, I am so glad you love them, I will delivering them shortly, can’t wait!
If you’re looking for a Surrey family photographer to take some family portraits this summer I would love to hear from you, so please do get in touch. Or for further information see my baby page, family page or past blogs. Thank you!

If you are reading this you may well be looking for a baby photographer Surrey? I would be delighted to chat further if you have a new baby. Or perhaps an older baby that you would like to capture at this special time. I travel all over Surrey to photograph babies from 7-10 days onwards for a newborn baby photo shoot. Tthen at various intervals onwards such as this gorgeous little chap for his 6 week baby photography session!
What a cutie he was and such a good boy when I was lucky enough to capture him last week. He had just started smiling so we were so excited to capture some happy smiley shots! This little chap was pretty much awake throughout the session. He was taking it all in and very interested in all that was going on! It was clear to see that he already has a very close bond with his Mummy. She was looking on so adoringly, which is not surprising, just look at him!
We enjoyed taking a variety of shots including a few with some very special knitted grey booties and blanket. Well done Granny! They were so professionally made I thought they were from ‘The White Company’! It’s a great idea to bring a few personal things that are sentimental. For example a teddy or blanket as it makes it all the more memorable in years to come.
The family were thrilled with their portraits and are now hoping to return next spring with Daddy and big brother to. I can’t wait!

2017 Family and headshot photography session highlights
So it seems I have still not found the magical solution to stopping time, even after trying a wide array of wands on a brilliant day out at Harry Potter World earlier this month! So for the time being, we shall all have to be content enjoying every day we do have with our family and friends even if they whizz by so quickly!
The reason I take so many photos of my children (several thousand each year!) is that I like to record the moments I might forget in years to come. It’s the little details that I love, sometimes overlooked. But in years to come will bring me such happiness when they remind me what they were like at that stage of their lives. I love looking at a portrait that brings back not only a visual reference to that moment but brings back the sound of the laughter, the warmth of the sunshine or the smell of the flowers. I certainly felt that when I looked through all the headshot and family photography sessions I had in 2017. They all brought back such happy memories of the fun we had during these family photoshoots. That’s the important word, ‘fun’! That really is the essence of my photography sessions. We are having fun, it shines through the pictures, brings out your true personalities, whilst you are having a great time! I am so pleased when people feedback that they didn’t realise it was going to be so much fun! That’s my aim, for your children to enjoy what they like doing best. If they are happy, you are happy and we can relax and enjoy ourselves!
Thank you so much for your support in 2017, it really has meant so much to me! It was an amazing year and I feel very honoured to have captured such special moments for so many lovely families. I have lots of exciting plans for 2018, and look forward to sharing these with you soon!
If you’re reading this, and thinking about a session in 2018, I do hope that these highlights below from sessions in Surrey, Berkshire and Sussex give you a flavour of my style and that you feel I might be the right photographer to capture some memories for you to treasure for a lifetime. I look forward to hearing from you. Contact me.
Many thanks for reading.

What a joy it was to be the baby photographer for dear little Sophie and parents from Godalming in Surrey. You may recognise her parents from their Surrey maternity session last month at Newlands Corner. I was so excited to hear of Sophie’s safe arrival into the world. It was such a treat to go and photograph her at home at just 2 weeks old.
She really was so tiny and perfect in every way. It was clear to see that Mum and Dad were already besotted. They could hardly take their eyes of their beautiful daughter for the whole of the baby photographer session. So it was easy to capture the love that filled the room. It’s such a treat being a baby photographer. It’s particularly special when I’ve met the parents before at their maternity photoshoot so we get to know each other. We can enjoy chatting about the upcoming events! They are all doing so well and I am very much looking forward to their next session with me in the Spring. When Sophie may well be crawling!
The family said after “Absolutely thrilled with the stunning photos from our bump and newborn shoots. Nicola is extremely friendly and welcoming, and captured magical images from both posed and more informal moments in our time together. The sessions afterwards to go through the images were also outstanding – Nicola took so much time to let us look through our pictures and explain all our options. We can’t wait for our next session!”

I was so pleased to hear from James and Debbie. They wanted to book a maternity photography session in Guildford with me in early August. They chose Newlands Corner just outside Guildford. It is a special place that they enjoy taking their much loved dogs for weekend walkies! With such magnificent views we were spoilt for choice for backdrops for the maternity photography session. The dogs clearly enjoyed the fresh air! The lovely couple wanted to capture this special time as they eagerly await the arrival of their precious baby. I am thrilled to say they are booked in for their newborn pictures so watch this space for an update soon!
Wishing you all the best in the next few weeks guys. I can’t wait to see from you.
Next Steps
I take maternity photography sessions when you reach about 35 weeks. You’ve got an impressive bump and still feel reasonably comfortable. We don’t have to move about too much on the sessions, it’s up to you really. These guys were great walkers and fit! But we can have lots of rests too!

How cute is this little chap?! He really did so well for his Reigate family photographer shoot at his home in Surrey. His doting parents were so sweet with him and their sense of fun was clearly appreciated by him! At just under one his personality shines through in these precious portraits. I am sure that will bring so much pleasure to look back at these early days when he’s as tall as Daddy! We moved around their garden, including taking one in front of the house and by the front gate. It would be really fun to recreate these every year!
We take pictures on our front door step every September. We all hold hands and see how much the children have grown in twelve months. When we have about 20 I will make them into a big collage. I suspect I will be the shortest when we get to that stage! The children seem to grow too quickly. Blink and there are another few centimetres added to their heights! My son in particular seems to be eating a lot more. I don’t think it’ll be long before we are no longer getting the children’s meal at Pizza Express!
What to bring
It’s fun to bring along some favourite toys like books. Alternatively maybe some building blocks or teddy to your family photography shoot. It’s so special to remember what they liked to play with at that age as you forget so quickly! I still haven’t thrown away my children’s toys. Each time I look at the them, they bring back a memory. I will put them up in the loft for our grandchildren (hopefully!) one day.
If you’d like some further information please contact me – I look forward to hearing from you.

Are you looking for a baby photographer in Horsham?
This gorgeous 1 month old baby from Horsham in West Sussex was such a treat to be the photographer for last week. He was ever so good although a little reluctant to fall asleep on his own! So we used every trick in the book to make sure he was happy and settled. It brought back so many memories of trying to settle my own babies. I can remember after what seemed like hours of rocking until they feel asleep, I’d carefully lay them down and tip toe out (holding my breath) only to find within minutes of leaving the room, they would wake again and start crying (usually just as I myself got into bed!). I don’t mind admitting I rather enjoy my undisturbed nights these days! Although even at 6 and 8 my children do sneak down the corridor now and then for a reassuring cuddle, which mostly I don’t mind at all!
