This lovely family had been looking for a portrait photographer in Guildford for a few months. So they were very pleased when I was recommend by their friend. Through our mutual friend I had heard lots of great things about the family. But I hadn’t realised until the Dad got out of the car that we were at University in Bristol together at the same time. So we had some fun reminiscing back to those days, many moons ago!
This family portrait photographer shoot was my last of 2014! How the year has flown by with so many baby photoshoots, headshots and family photography sessions! For this session, we went to the woods. Winterfold Woods are close to where the family live now and near where Anna grew up in local village, Ewhurst near Guildford in Surrey.
The colours still looked gorgeous and the kids were such fun we had a lovely time. I love the colours of the brown ferns.
Anna sent me a lovely note after, “You did the most amazing job capturing my family and I can’t thank you enough for that. You have an incredible talent that I will certainly tell others about.” Thanks Anna, I really enjoyed our time together and hope to see you again soon. x

Baby and Family Photographer Godalming Surrey
I was very excited to meet up to photograph a gorgeous family from Godalming in Surrey. I am very fond of these guys, it’s my third shoot with them as they are coming to the end of my ‘baby package’ which involves 3 shoots in a 12-18 month period. So I first met Cordelia for a 6 month shoot in September 2013, then at 1 year in March 2014 then again at 18 months in November! Cordelia is the most delightful little girl, she couldn’t be any sweeter if she tried! She is always so full of smiles and fun and it’s been a real treat to be able to capture her journey through the early years!
I had a lovely email from Mum afterwards…

The bright autumn leaves were still looking fab on this children’s portrait photographer shoot in Surrey! These 2 little boys had bags of energy and were so much fun, it made for a very easy and relaxed morning! There are so many gorgeous children’s portraits including an unusual number of really great whole family portraits which bearing in mind we are taking about a 4 and 2 year old, is amazing!
As you will see from the pictures I like to move about quite a bit on shoots. It keeps it lively and interesting and adds plenty of opportunities to show the children’s personalities, so we tend to keep on the move which makes it all the more fun too! I wouldn’t change being a children’s portrait photographer for anything!
I had a lovely email from Margaret after “Thank you again. We love our photos. I can’t believe you managed to get so many decent ones, usually Sam won’t let anyone come near him with a camera to take his photo, Alex pulls funny faces and I have my eyes closed so you had a real challenge!! It’s such a great job being a baby children’s photographer Surrey. I get to meet families from all over Surrey and beyond.
I was really looking forward to photographing baby Alfie and family from Guildford in Surrey. You may recognise them as it’s their fourth shoot with me. Thankfully I am documenting their growing family through the different stages of childhood. I first met the family 2 years ago when their eldest Freddie was 6 months old. This seems like a lifetime ago now! I feel like I’ve really had a chance to get to know the family over that time which is lovely. In fact I’ve passed on some of my own children’s toys to the boys. One of the toys is our big frog sandpit which apparently was a big hit over the summer!
The family seem to be doing very well with their latest gorgeous addition. In fact despite the lack of sleep Mum Josie looked remarkably bright eyed. I must find out what her secret is!! Really can’t wait to see them next April for their next session when I suspect Alfie will be sitting up!

What a lovely time I had photographing baby Oliver and family from Surrey. Oliver loved playing with the autumn leaves in the woods so it was easy to capture him with plenty of smiles! I first captured Oliver when he was just 3 months old so it was fab to catch up and see how much he had grown! It was lovely that Daddy could join this session too. I captured plenty of beautiful moments of the family enjoying precious time together.

I was so excited to do a family portrait photography shoot in Surrey for my great friend Annie and her family over the summer. The family were celebrating Grandad’s milestone birthday so it was great fun being together, particularly watching the five granddaughters running round the garden having a ball. The girls have grown so much since their last portrait photography shoot when I last captured them in 2012, (with a new addition too!) check out the difference

I first met Annie when we started secondary school so rather a long time ago! It’s so special to have kept in contact all the way through to being parents ourselves! Our children are a similar age so it’s very sweet to see them play together.

You might have come across this post whilst searching for a Cobham Surrey family photographer. I would be delighted to help. Hopefully this family shoot might give you a flavour of my style.
I was unsure if we’d go ahead with this family photography shoot in Cobham in Surrey due to the awful weather forecast! It looked like we might have considerable rain. But the family really wanted to go ahead as they were down from London for the day visiting their parents. So I arrived with my waterproofs on and we watched the rain falling for about 10 minutes before we ventured outside!
Amazingly we then only had a bit of light drizzle which as you may well know never gets in the way of a little boys fun! We fed the ducks in the lake at the bottom of the garden, and then played about having a lovely time. At the end of the shoot Robin spied the bird bath and was pretty pleased that no one stopped him getting totally soaked. In fact we encouraged him!! Oh the joy to see the world through 18 month old eyes!

We struck it lucky with the weather one bright Sunday morning a couple of weeks ago. I was chosen to be the Surrey family portrait photographer for this lovely family from Bramley in Surrey. The sun was shining and the children were on great form. So we had a fun and relaxed shoot along the Downs Link very close to the family’s home. The children were very familiar with the walk, so it was easy capturing them showing me their favourite places to play. We enjoyed collecting conkers and imagining we were waiting for a train at the old station! I loved the location, it means so much to the family, so their memories will be cherished all the more for years to come.
I had a lovely email from the family after: “Oh my goodness, you are a miracle worker with the camera. These are exactly what I was hoping for but never for a moment thought we would get such lovely photos given how camera shy the kids are. Also how difficult it is to get a 2 and 4 year old to do what they’re told! You were so patient with them (& us), thank you. I especially love the back drop of our own village – you really captured ‘our story’. Thank you so much.”
Thank you for your kind words, it was so much fun, it was my pleasure! The children are such a credit to you both. You should be very proud! I am sure they deserved a treat after the session!

It was fun catching up again with this family for their children’s portrait photography Surrey session. The shoot took place near their home near Croydon in Surrey over the summer. The children had grown up so much in a year since our last portrait photography session. It was lovely this time to include their cousins too! I always say the more the merrier as it’s great to bring cousins, grandparents and other family members into the sessions. During this photography session we allowed plenty of family time to capture some special memories! Aren’t the flowers looking glorious? I can almost smell the roses just looking at these pictures! The colours were so bright and vibrant.
It rather inspired me to tend to my own garden! We have some friends coming over on the weekend so I think I better do some weeding and tidying as the forecast looks great so we might have a bbq! I have a new recipe for some spicy chicken and lemon prawns so with this likely to be the last opportunity to be outside. I had better get shopping and cooking!

Children’s Portrait Photography Surrey // Children’s Portrait Photography Guildford
With all this lovely weather we’ve been having our you looking for a professional family photo shoot Surrey? When I headed out to Clandon, near Guildford in Surrey, I was very excited. I knew it was going to be a really fun and very special family photo shoot. When we originally discussed the plans for the session, the family suggested their garden. As you can see from the pictures this was a wonderful choice. It provided a great backdrop for the shoot, plenty of colour and of course the girls felt very comfortable and relaxed at home. So as with all shoots, I captured the family having fun, playing and enjoying family time. I took along my little paper butterflies that I thought the girls would like. I wrapped them in amongst the lavender so they had to go and find them!
After their viewing session I had a lovely email from the family:
“Thank you so much for the amazing photos Nicola! We are so pleased with them, you were brilliant with the girls and managed to capture so many wonderful moments. They are very special and will be treasured for many years to come”.
