Surrey Pet Photography
It’s always fun to get involved in some family and pet photography in Surrey and the surrounding counties. This lovely family bought one of my Christmas vouchers last year. They chose a month that suited them to have the pictures in their stunning garden.
The family quite rightly wanted to include their three beautiful dogs. They had boundless energy and were absolutely gorgeous. We took different combinations around the garden. We tried to include all their favourite places like their climbing frames and swing bench. This will make it all the more special to remember their childhood.
I’ve included all sorts of pet photography throughout the years including cats, dogs, horses, rabbits, guinea pigs, tortoises, pigs and chickens! They’re all part of the family of course! (Although I think I might have to draw the line at snakes and spiders!)
Review
I was so pleased to read such a lovely five star review after their viewing.
“Nicola recently did a two hour shoot with our family of six and the results our fantastic. Nicola made the whole experience a fun one for us and the kids. Even our dogs seemed determined to be on best behaviour. This is our third family shoot with a professional photographer and these are by far our favourite photos. Beautifully natural whilst also capturing our family in a fun and memorable way. We would not hesitate to recommend Nicola to anyone looking for professional photography. Thanks so much Nicola!’
It was my pleasure, thank you so much for choosing me.

It’s great fun being a Surrey pet photographer. Sometimes I am commissioned to take pictures of a pet as a standalone session. And sometimes it’s part of a wider family shoot.
On this occasion it was part of a family shoot at Newlands Corner near Guildford in Surrey. The family had bought the voucher at Christmas last year. After some discussion on location they chose Newlands Corner because they enjoy spending time there as a family .
I met them one week day morning with their two gorgeous dogs. We enjoyed walking around the area stopping every now and again to take pictures. As you can see this was very relaxed. It’s important to me that family sessions are not posed or formal. My style is more relaxed capturing your personalities.
This is particularly important for teenage photography sessions. I like teenagers to be part of the direction of the shoot. It’s more fun when they are in control.
After the shoot, the family visited the studio a week later. At this point I showed lots of examples of what they could do with their beautiful portraits. I have a wide range of frames, canvases, and portrait books. So there is something to suit everyone’s taste. This could be from displaying portraits on your wall, or desk tops to one of the stunning coffee table books.
There is no pet too small or too big for me to capture! I’ve taken pictures of all sorts of animals from rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, tortoises, horses and pigs!!! I’ve also been on farms capturing cows and sheep! No two shoots of the same, which brings all the more fun.

This was such a lovely family session including the two gorgeous dogs. Plus granny too with her lovely dog. It’s so important to include our furry friends. I have photographed so many different pets. For example cats, dogs, hamsters, guinea pigs, tortoises, horses, pigs, rabbits and chickens! I might have to draw the line at a snake though as I think I’m rather phobic.
It was a beautiful summary day when I arrived to take the pictures. The sun was shining and everyone was in great spirits. We moved around their beautiful garden capturing the family enjoying time together. We made sure that the dogs were in plenty of pictures of course.
The pond was a great focal point. Check out mummy duck with her little ducklings. They were so sweet! I’d imagine the water is a nice spot for the dogs to cool down in on a hot summers day. Thankfully there was no swimming on the shoot day though!
I have included below some examples of frames. I always do this at viewings so that it helps the family gather ideas about what to do with their portraits. Sometimes it can be quite overwhelming to see so many beautiful pictures. But I have some great software to help you choose what is right for your home and budget.
