Bumps and Babies Photography
First of all congratulations! If you’re reading this you’re probably pregnant or have a new baby!
I LOVE being a maternity baby photographer Surrey – it’s that gorgeous newborn baby smell, seeing all those little folds and creases and capturing the wonderful growing bond between mummy/daddy and their precious new baby.
Allow me to tell you how I can capture these special times that pass so quickly – let me capture your beautiful maternity bump, the details of your newborn baby’s tiny fingers and toes, those first few days of life when you are getting to know your precious newborn baby and the following months when everyday your baby learns something new. The first year is the most incredible (and fast!) year of all your lives!
Some key stages you may wish to consider recording during your pregnancy and the first 12 months are as follows:
Maternity Bump Photography
I like to schedule a maternity photography session when you reach approximately 35 weeks. At this stage you’ve got a wonderful blooming bump, and are still relatively (!) comfortable. It also means I can show you your portraits about a week later so we have a bit of breathing space before you put your feet up and wait for your baby to arrive! I strive to not only capture beautiful moments for you and your partner, but also make the experience enjoyable and comfortable.
We mostly meet up at a location close to your home for the maternity photography shoot, where we don’t need to move about too much, and you can rest in between shots. Clothing suggestions will be discussed during our telephone consultation, but again, your comfort level determines which clothing pieces are used.
0-6 months
This is a unique opportunity to take some wonderful sleepy shots of your newborn baby curled up both on a blanket and in your arms. It’s also a great time to take some close ups of your baby’s tiny hands and feet with the contrast of your hands against them. In years to come it’ll be hard to remember how tiny they really were! These shots are great to use for announcement cards and generally telling your friends and family about your gorgeous new arrival!
Your heart will melt when you see your baby’s first smile around 6 weeks – all the sleepless nights will be (almost) forgotten! Around 3-4 months it’s lovely to capture your baby doing some tummy time showing how clever they are now lifting their head!
6 to 12 months
Around this time your baby will be able to sit unaided, then will start to crawl and move on to stand and walk with your help. These are great milestones to document.
After the session
After the baby photography session you can give yourselves a pat on the back and a well deserved cup of tea as I head back to the computer to review your images! I then select the very best images to edit and retouch where necessary. I then produce a stunning collection of approximately 50 images that I present to you in a slideshow in my viewing room about a week later. At this ordering session I am on hand (with plenty of chocolate biscuits!) to guide you through how you might like to display your portraits in your home.
‘My First Year’ Baby Photography Package
Because each of these stages is unique, I offer a ‘My First Year’ Baby Photography Package. This includes 3 portrait sessions taken at your preferred times during the first 12-18 months.
I work with each family getting to know you, so I can offer you a tailored service based around your ideas and your story at different points along your baby’s journey. The ‘My First Year’ package is priced at £350, and includes one 18″x10″ frame of your favourite portrait from each of the 3 sessions. Sessions can of course be booked as individual sessions too from £95.

Please note – I only take on 8 Clients per month, so that I have sufficient time to dedicate to each Client. I tend to book about 2-3 months in advance, so please get in contact in plenty of time to secure your session, especially if you are pregnant, or have a particular time of your baby’s life that you would like recording.
