Dorking Family Photography shoot

A few months ago I was approached by a lady who was looking for a Dorking family photography shoot to celebrate her father’s special birthday at Ridge Farm near Dorking. The family came together from various corners of the South East. For a long weekend to celebrate, have fun and catch up at this very special venue!

The stunning sixteenth century farm house has a very colourful history. Most notably as a well renowned residential recording studio for the likes of Roxy Music, Queen, Ozzy Osbourne, Pearl Jam and Oasis.  An example of the artists producing multi-platinum selling albums out of the old barn studio. I enjoyed looking through the ‘gold’ discs hanging in the hallway of the house! As I wandered through the house, I couldn’t help but imagine some of the wild parties over the years! Although no longer a recording studio, the house and grounds can be hired for family gatherings and weddings.

The shoot was a surprise for Simon so when I arrived it was fun to see his reaction to his present. I was relieved he was very excited! All the family were extremely welcoming, and I thoroughly enjoyed a couple of hours with them exploring the garden and capturing them having fun together. As you can see the family were very playful and enjoyed running races, leaf fights and a human tug of war! I am pleased to report there were no injuries!! It was altogether a fabulous morning and to top it off I left with a slice of delicious birthday cake!!!

I really enjoyed reading an email from Simon after viewing the pictures from his gallery. “I just wanted to send you a short note to say thank you for the fantastic set of photos following our shoot at Ridge Farm last Sunday. It was such a pleasure meeting you and you were so patient. Also professional and friendly cajoling all of the family to produce so many tremendous photos. We now have a huge problem to try to select those to keep!!!”

I am pleased to say I have just finished editing his final selection of their favourite 100 pictures.  In addition I’ve ordered their choice of two stunning frames for them to enjoy relieving a special weekend for years to come.
