I met the fabulous Hampshire based Loved by Da at a Christmas fair last year. I immediately snapped up the most gorgeous navy tulle skirt, faux fur gilet and navy/silver bomber jacket! Voila my Christmas party outfit sorted!

So I was thrilled when she was looking for some help with her personal branding and training on how to take better reels and stories for instagram.

We chatted through ideas to make sure I was the right photographer for her. I wanted to understand her brief and start to think about ideas so we were best prepared for the day. Based on what she wanted to achieve, we agreed that I would be with her for 5 to 6 hours. There was lots to go through, far too much for a two hour shoot!

So one of the first things we did was look at where she could take reels for her Instagram. I gave her advice on lighting and backgrounds on where I thought would make a great spot for  consistency, simplicity and with the greatest effect. We used her phone to set up the shot, so she knew exactly how to recreate it. Together we looked at how she would do stories for Instagram in a different location.

We then looked at editing and the easiest way to do this. Lastly, we took time to take lots of personal branding shots. She did loads of clothes changes, of course she had lots to choose from! She wanted to include Nala her dog because he is such a big part of her life! We also included some other props like books, flowers, mug and laptop.

It is important to tell her story, what she gets up to in the day. This will be so useful to drip feed into social media over the coming months. They will also be fantastic for her website.
