It was my absolute pleasure to photograph the Stanley Family in Shere, near Guildford in Surrey a couple of weeks ago (when the sun was actually shining)! It wasn’t the first time I’d captured them – as I photographed their son, Archie last Summer when he was just a few days old. It wasn’t a surprise to see how much he had grown!
So this time round – yummy mummy Kate was really up for creating a fun mini adventure for all the kids! Talking about what the kids like doing is an essential part of every pre-session planning. Most children love an adventure like going off to the woods, or a park searching for fairies, buried treasure, ladybirds or feeding the ducks! I like to offer families some fun and adventure on our photoshoots – I like to make it special to each child depending on what they are into! So for the Stanleys we came up with the idea of a photo shoot in Shere feeding the ducks because it’s always a hit with the kids! So we headed down armed with nets, bread and a few plastic ducks (in case the real ones didn’t show up)! We had a lovely time paddling, climbing a few trees, messing about with fun hats and hairbands, picking wild flowers and admiring the bright and colourful buttercups. This was an ideal shoot and I think the final portraits show the true personality of the family and I am so glad they loved them! I hope you enjoy them for years to come! x
