Last week I had a lovely shoot with a beautiful 9 day old newborn baby girl, Matilda. I like to photograph newborn babies when they are asleep but Matilda was having none of it(!), until about 2 hours into our session when she finally dropped off for about 20 minutes and let us take some wonderful shots of her with a variety of accessories. When I photograph newborn babies, I like to make sure I have some natural shots of the baby with nothing on, and then (if the parents wish) I have a collection of hats and headbands that I can pop on the baby to add a bit of fun!
Newborn sessions can be quite lengthy, but it doesn’t matter as I keep my diary wide open for these sessions so that we feel relaxed, not rushed and enjoy capturing the baby. Plus we have plenty of time to drink tea, eat cake (yay!) and chat about the birth, sleepless nights, feeding or Eastenders!
Welcome to the world little Matilda…
